Friday 15th of July 2016 and it is time to leave for my Kangaroo and Koala adventure in Australian travel posterAustralia. And my plan will finally be put in motion after all the planning and dreaming. And as before, the planning have been done on board Australian travel postera ship. Sitting in my cabin dreaming about a place far away from the ship.

I will fly via Singapore, a price I will have to pay avoiding Thai Airways. Same when I was flying to Copenhagen and I have spent 260,000 Baht on the tickets that normally would have been spent with Thai Airways.

But Thailand have a new business plan, charge the tourists 10 times more than Thai people for national parks and museums, so I guess they will make up for the loss of revenue from Thai Airways and all the “Made in Thailand” things that I will try to avoid to buy.

I was planning to leave at 4 in the afternoon. First I realised that I had forgotten my passport. Then when I came out on the street. BAAM! The traffic was at full stop. One of the security guards went to look for a taxi and the time passed by. And it was soon 16:30 and I was very happy when the security guard called on the radio. He had found a taxi and he was on his way.

The traffic was hardly moving on Sukhumvit and it wasn't any better when we came up on the toll way. I was seriously worried that I would miss my flight and I wish I had taken the train to the airport. But when we passed the second toll gate the traffic was lighter and we were hauling arse. We srrived to Suvarnabhumi around 6 o'clock in the evening.

I checked in at Singapore Airlines desk and I was soon through security and immigration. Now I had to trot all the way to Singapore Airlines lounge were I have a wee bit of time to update my web page before it is time to board Singapore Airlines flight SQ 983 to Singapore.

Flight SQ 983 departs at 20:05 and I left the lounge 20 minutes before 8 and I will have just a wee bit more than an hour to get to Terminal 2 and my flight MI 811 to Cairns. Let the adventure begin! This might turn out to be fun.

The flight was full so I could not sit alone, but they told me at the check-in that I would be sitting alone from Singapore to Cairns on Silk Airs flight MI 811/ SQ5271 so this is something I'm looking forward to.

Anyway, I ended up next to a guy from Singapore and we were talking about bird watching. And of course, I could not resist to tell him about the Oriental Pied Hornbill I saw in Singapore last time.

We were pulled out from the gate and we were taxi to the runway while watching the safety movie

We took off towards Singapore and they were soon serving dinner. I could choose between giant prawns (killer for our environment), some Thai chicken (Full of antibiotic) and Japanese styled Singapore Airlines flight SQ 983chicken. And yes, I chose the Japanese styled chicken.

No JUMBO shrimp for me, and you should stop eat them as well. Question your shrimp by clicking HERE Something to think about.

The Japanese styled chicken was excellent, and I hope it is not chicken from Thailand as they are full of antibiotic. I asked for tea and if they had a bigger sized cup and they brought me a mug of tea.

Smoked salmon salad, well, they had put a slice of orange in the salmon salad and that was nothing I will do. But I could eat it. Mango Singapore Airlines flight SQ 983and sticky rice as dessert and we were soon to arrive to Singapore.

When they came with my third mug of tea I asked them to bring me two.

The mugs were a wee bit bigger than a cup, but not Tea on Singapore Airlines flightmuch so two mugs at the same time would be better. And this was no problem.

We landed just after 11 o'clock and I had to go to Terminal 2 for my flight to Cairns. I was trotting through terminal 3 to Singapore International Airportreach the sky train station for the train to terminal 2 and the F gates.

Silk Air's flight MI 811/ Singapore Airlines flight SQ5271 is departing from gate F30 and Singapore Airlines lounge were some 5 minutes away by foot. But no signs or directions so I had to ask 2 or 3 times before I could find the Kris Lounge at Changi Airport.

I found the lounge and when I checked-in I gave them a humble suggestion: Please, put signs and direction so it is possible to find your lounge. I found the Kris Lounge at Singapore International Airportcomputer/ desk area and I set up my lap top and the charge for my e-cigarette.

I wil have about an hour before it is time to go to the gate to board the flight. And I will take the opportunity to up date my web page with the latest drivel.

The food in the lounge leaves a lot to wish for, only Chinese styled food so I went to get a soda water. I was surprised to discover that they had Diet Pepsi in Diet Pepsi at Kris Lounge, Singapore International Airportthe fridge. I started by taking 2 cans and I brought them back to my computer desk.

I kept myself busy to try to get my friend in UK to join Line. We started in Bangkok and we could not find each other on the LineLine app. I had to give up in Bangkok as it was time for boarding. I continued here and, well, we didn’t came any further.

I was almost alone in the lounge and I enjoyed my self. I had a third can of Diet Pepsi but I Kris Lounge at Singapore International Airportnever managed to finish the can before it was time to leave for the gate.

Silver Kris Lounge

I said good bye to the Silver Kris staff and I left for gate F30. Took me about 5 minutes to walk there and I was surprised to see all the people lining up for the security check at the gate. Took about 15 minutes before I was cleared and I stopped at the desk to confirm that I was still alone in row 3 on the starboard side of the plane. And I was very happy that I was still alone in the two seats. No one next to me, can it be any better?

I woke up about an hour before arrival and I had time for breakfast. The other passengers were already finished with their breakfast. But I never got any tea as we had some turbulence and they didn't wanted to serve hot beverages. Well, never mind, the breakfast was OK with water and orange juice.

We were out of the plane around 10 thirty, very nice. We had to wait for 15 minutes for our luggage and then I had to pass the custom. You had to show your declaration for a custom officer and she showed you where to go. Track #1 or track #2.

I was directed to track #2 and that meant that I had to go to a “BIO” dog something that sniffed on my bags. Track #1 was through the x-ray machines. The dog was happy with my bags and I could go to look for a taxi. Click the links below to find out everything about the Kangaroo and Koala adventure in Australia.
