Tuesday 1st of May 2018 and it is the May Day and we're still anchored. Pilot time 15:00 was soon changed to 19:00 and then back to 16:00. And then everything was unclear. I had a 30 minutes power nap after lunch just in case I need to stay up all night long.
I was in my cabin when I heard them starting the engine and we will be at the pilot station at 4 o'clock. We could see the ship leaving our jetty, she had not completed discharging, but she had to leave the jetty so we could come alongside to discharge our cargo.
We had all fast at PTT #4 @ 17:06 and we started to discharge at 18:00. And I have had time for a quick dinner (half standing, half sitting) with the Loading Master before we started discharging.
300 m3/h maximum discharge rate so we expect to stay here in Siracha for more than 30 hours. So there will be time for the crew to go ashore to buy gifts for me.

Wednesday 2nd of May 2018 and I started the day with tea, mango and bananas. Our Agent on board got mangoes last time in Maptaput and now they are yellow. He gave me one and the Loading Master gave me bananas when we arrived yesterday. So it will be some kind of fruit salad. Of course, not anything like what I'm used to from home.

We had a guy from lloyds on board for an MLC inspection and we could renew the certificate without any remarks. I went to be trying to get some sleep when we were ready as I expect it to be a late night filled with paper work.

Thursday 3rd of May 2018 and we left Si Racha, ศรีราชา just after midnight with the CCR full of Pepsi MAX that the crew had been arranged ashore. And a big EXTRA VIRGIN olive oil. I had a hard time to fall asleep and I was dead tired when they called me quarter to 7 in the morning. Pilot approaching and we will soon have all fast at TTT Jetty 2B in Map Ta Phut, มาบตาพุด.

We started the discharging at 09:36 and we will be ready 3 o'clock tomorrow morning and the Pilot will come on board at 5 o'clock. So I decided to go to bed after dinner.

Friday 4th of May 2018 and I was extremely lucky and I managed to fall asleep at 7 o'clock yesterday so I was full of “PEP” and “VIM” when they called me at 2 o'clock in the morning. We completed loading 6 minutes after 3 and by then we had completed most of the paper work.

Our Agent came on board and he had a bag of mango for me, red mangoes. I had got a bag of yellow mango from our 2nd Engineer so it will be a Skåne mix for breakfast, yellow and red mango. And yes, I'm quite exciting.
I have never seen red mangos before so it will be interesting to see how they are tasting. And the plan was to have mango and tea for breakfast after departure. I was down in the CCR as soon as we had left Map Ta Phut, มาบตาพุด. I prepared my tea and peeled the mangoes and it turned out to be one of the best breakfast ever.

Sunday 6th of May 2018 and we spent the whole day anchored outside Map Ta Phut, มาบตาพุด and we changed the wire for the MOB boat. We took the opportunty to launch the boat to test so everything was working OK.

Monday 7th of May 2018 and we're still anchored outside Map Ta Phut, มาบตาพุด. I booked my bear hides in Finland for July. I booked Beaver, Moose and Bear adventures in Sweden as well. Playing around on the map planning the adventures and to see where to stay at hotel. The original plan:
• Bear, Beaver and moose in Sweden
• Fly to Finland
• Bear, Wolverine and wolfs in Finland
• Fly to Germany
• Bicycling along the Kiel Canal
Looking at the map and I decided to drive my rented car to Finland, take a few days to drive through the north of Sweden. And when I'm back in Skåne I will take the train to Kiel, Germany after a few days of bird watching on Kullaberg.

Tuesday 8th of May 2018 and we had heaved up the anchor during early morning and we were on the way to Bongkot to load. I found out that the Bear hides in Sweden were full for the dates I had booked. Seriously, how hard can it be to have a booking system on-line. We're not in the year of 1997 anymore with some home-made excel sheets.
The dates were available on their booking page, so this is something they have to look in to as it is 2018 and you just expect things like this to work properly. OK, I have 6 days in Finland. 3 days with Wild Brown Bear Centre and 3 days with Wildlife Safaris Finland.

So I have two extra days to kill going to Finland and I want to go to see Kebnekaise, and of course, bird watching on the way. So this is how I kill my evenings, planning for a wildlife adventure in Sweden and Finland. The adventure along the Kiel Canal on a bike is ready, just to decide on the date.

Wednesday 9th of May 2018 and I was on the bridge at 6 o'clock and Bongkot Pilot was on the way. We were almost ready with the mooring when we had to let go and try again as Bongkot FSO 2 swung with the tide. So instead of a tandem mooring we looked like an L. We had all fast at 9 forty two and we started to load at 11 zero two.
We completed the first parcel in the late afternoon and we expect to be ready with the last parcel early tomorrow morning.
Greater Bongkot South (GBS) Gas and Condensate Field
Greater Bongkot South (GBS) is a gas and condensate field located about 200km east of Songkhla in the Gulf of Thailand. The field is operated by PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP), which has a stake of 44.45%. Other partners in the field include BG Group with a 22.22% stake and Total, with a stake of 33.33%.
The Greater Bongkot South (GBS) field is situated 700km away from the existing Bongkot North development.
The Processing Platform South (PPS) at the Greater Bongkot South field has a capacity of about 350 million cubic feet of gas and 15,000 barrels of condensate a day. The gas from the field is exported to the PTT grid via a newly built spur line. The condensate is exported to the existing floating, storage and offloading (FSO) vessel at the Greater Bongkot North field, located about 80km away in the north.
Thursday 10th of May 2018 and we left Bongkot at 7 o'clock in the morning. We had finished loading just after 5. And I had have several bottles of MAX by the time it was time to leave. And yet again, finish all the paper work after the loading and then start preparing the papers for discharging, and of course the cargo plan. So I was busy in the CCR and the time was really passing quickly.
Management meeting at 10 thirty and they have planned to send down the painters to paint in the ballast tanks. The problem is that they cannot read English, but this was no problem, they understand “very well” as the Captain said. It is a requirement to have a language everyone can understand, to read safety information, instructions etc.
I have them to do normal painting jobs on deck, nothing that require any work permits. Captain informed me that they had done it before. Well, I said that my name will not be anywhere near any documents about their enclosed space entry.
Me and Pump Man had been up since early morning so we went to rest in the afternoon and we will be busy preparing for discharging tomorrow. We will have a day at the anchorage outside Si Racha, ศรีราชา tomorrow and we expect to come alongside on Saturday when they have ullage available in the shore tanks. So again, we will wait and see what's happening.
I have booke most of the hotels for my trip to Sweden/ Finland/ Germany in July. Still some gaps to fill and I'm busy studying the map and to decide where I want to stop.

Friday 11th of May 2018 and we dropped anchor at Si Racha, ศรีราชา OPL anchorage at 12 thirty. We were in progess of dropping the anchor when the speed boat with the navigation auditor came. We will have an external navigation audit here and the suditor will stay on board until we have all fast at the SBM tomorrow.
We finished the audit/ meeting and, well, what a waste of money. This was pure rubbish, all the same platitudes about safety. Safety is the first thing that goes out the window. This they spend money on, but working gloves and pillows. Well, that is too expensive.
We got two new ABs on board and I knew both of them from Roy Mærsk.

Saturday 12th of May 2018 and I was on the bridge at 6 o'clock in the morning. Our Auditor was on the bridge to see how the BRIDGE TEAM was working. So he wa son th ebridge until we reached SBM-1 bouy in Si Racha, ศรีราชา. I tought that he would leave us at the SBM but he will stay onboard and leave with the pilot tonight.
We started discharging around 11 o'clock and we expect to be ready around 8 o'clock tonight so it looks to be an early evening, good!

Monday 14th of May 2018 and I was on the bridge at 6 o'clock in the morning watching the Pilot boarding us with the Surveyor. Tandem mooring completed at 07 thirty two and we started to load just after 9 o'clock. So yet again, it will be in the middle of the night.

Tuesday 15th of May 2018 and we left Bongkot around 5 o'clock in the morning. Pump Man and I had been up since 1 thirty. So we will finish our working hours at 10 o'clock. We arrive to Map Ta Phut tomorrow morning, but as the jetty is occupied we will have to wait until late evening before we can come along side.
But this can change so I finished all cargo documentation and cargo plans before I went back to my cabin at 10 o'clock. Waiting for the jetty at arrival means no anchorage after discharging, and we need time now as we have discovered that it is leaking from CT 6 to the ballast. Lucky that it is high up in th tank so it is only gas. So there is a lot of job ahead of us.

Wednesday 16th of May 2018 and I could hear how they were dropping the anchor around 6 o'clock in the morning. I was in my cabin drinking tea eating oatmeal when they dropped the anchor. I spend the day ordering medicines and to prepare for the next voyage. Good no time to even relax for a few seconds and the time pass very quickly.

Thursday 17th of May 2018 and we had all fast at TTT Jetty 2B just before 12 o'clock and we had time for a very quick lunch before the Loading Master and Surveyor came on board. Paper work and we could start discharging at 13:36 and we expect to be ready tomorrow afternoon.

I have managed to book almost all the hotels for my road trip through Sweden in July. I have booked the train to Kiel in Germany. I will rent an Audi A6 for almost a month, comfortable car and I will enjoy my road trip to Finland.
I managed to get a ticket to Copenhagen via India. The lounges at the Bombay and Dheli Internationals are only second to Turkish lounge in Istanbul and I decided to try Air India. The business class looks good on the internet, so yes, why not.

Friday 18th of May 2018 and we completed discharging just after one o'clock in the afternoon. We left Map Ta Phut, มาบตาพุด at 3 oøclock and we sat course towards Bongkot Condensate Field with full speed. The Bongkot FSO 2 is getting full as we have been delayed so they need us to be back in a jiff to offload the condensate.

We arrived to Bongkot pilot station just after 12 o'clock and we had to wait for the pilot for a while. We started to load at 3 o'clock in the afternoon and we expect to be out from here before lunch time tomorrow.

Sunday 20th of May 2018 and we left Bongkot just before 10 o'clock. By now I have a hard time keeping track of where we are. Loding or discharging in and out from ports all the time. Arriving early tomorrow morning, but later on we learned the the shore tanks are full in Map Ta Phut, มาบตาพุด so pilot will be at 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

Monday 21st of May 2018 and we dropped anchor for a few hours at Map Ta Phut anchorage. Pilot will board around 2 o'clock in the afternoon and we expect to eave early tomorrow afternoon.
We started discharging just before dinner, 500m3 line displacement to start with and I had a very quick dinner before I returned to the CCR to atend to the line displacement.

Tuesday 22nd of May 2018 and they called me 3 o'clock in the morning. They had stopped discharging due to a thunderstorm passing over us. Loud bangs and I could see the lightning through the curtains in my room.
We left Map Ta Phut, มาบตาพุด 4 o'clock in the afternoon and we dropped anchor an hour later to take bunker. I was busy doing new loading plans as they had changed the intakes at Bongkot FSU.

And as I was busy in the CCR I had dinner in the mess room instead of having oatmeal and tea in my room. I had expected a lot of fruit and vegetables on board Rita Maersk as we're in port every day. But here is no fresh fruit and vegetables at all.
When we left the jetty I asked the Agent to bring fresh mango for me next time we're back in Map Ta Phut. Going back to my room and I brought a few bags of oatmeal and a few boxes of All Bran to my cabin. I have my breakfast and dinner in my cabin and thus I'm by-passing the mess room and the food.
I have my “Healthy Corner” in my room and I don't know, might be my imagination, but I think there is more space in my shirt and trousers now.

Wednesday 23rd of May 2018 and I was drinking tea eating otameal in my cabin when I heard that they started the engine and left Map Ta Phut Anchorage. 2 hours later and I went down to the CCR and as all crew were waiting for me we started the “Good morning PEP” meeting 10 minutes before 8. Gymnastics, of course, and when we were reayd we could start pressure test our cargo and COW lines.
When that was ready we cleaned cargo tank 6 stb. We have a leak between the cargo tank and ballast tank so we will try to find the leak when we have time. So we need to be gas free to put pressure in the cargo tank and if weäre lucky we will find the leak. Lucky thatthe leak is in the top of the tank so it is only gas passing between the tanks.
So it was a full day and as we arrive to Bongkot at 6 tomorrow morning w ehad to do all our arrival procedures as well.

Thursday 24th of May 2018 and pilot came on board at 06:12 and we started to load at 08:12 and of course, we will be ready in the middle of the night.

Friday 25th of May 2018 and of course, no luck and I didn't managed to get any sleep. Well, maybe 2 hours so before they called me quarter to 2 o'clock in the morning. I was back in bed just before 6 having been on deck preparing for gasfreeing with Pump Man. Gas free and pressurerise 6 STB cargo tank..

Even though I'm tired I'm not looking forward to my pillows. new ordered as soon as I came on board. So far nothing. But we don't have flourocent light tubes on board so we have dark lights around the ship, and with an up coming vetting inspection.
And no matches on board, seriously, they put out matchen when we have inspections so the Inspector see that we have matches in the smoke room. Easy to imagine how easy it is to forget to put out the matches.
Lighters are forbidden on tankers, well, we save where ever we can. Afternoon was spent preparing ballast and cargo tank for tomorrow and tonight I will spend my time praying that we can find the leak.

But as I have been at least to say unlucky with my lottery ticket I expect some luck to strike us down in the ballast tank tomorrow. Anyway, it will be nice with some sleep. 4 hours of total sleep during the night and, well, I could have been sleeping all day long. But then it would have been impossible to sleep tonight, so I went up after two hours.
We will drop anchor at arrival to Map Ta Phut as there is a ship at our jetty. First we would come alongside on the 27th at 01:00, but the latest is 20:30 on the 26th of May. A much better time.

Saturday 26th of May 2018 and I was in my room drinking tea when they dropped the anchor at 05 thirty in the morning. We had found the leak between the cargo tank and ballast tank before 9 o'clock. And it was CT 7 S leaking and not CT 6 S, so it was a good day. Good that we found the leak so easy.
Pilot 22:00 so it will be a long night, will I be lucky to be able to catch some sleep? 22:00 and then 20:00 and then 10 again. Ended up to be 2 thirty in the morning

Sunday 27th of May 2018 and I was in bed at 6 o'clock and we had just started discharging and completed the line displacement. And we expect to be ready around midningt leaving 02:00 tomorrow morning, yet another night awake.
Our Agent delivered mango for me when he came on board after completion at 23 thirty. So now I have some fresh fruit to eat. I have a subscrition for mangoes with our Agent.
He will bring mango for me every time we come back from Bongkot, บงกด to discharge in Map Ta Phut or Si Racha, ศรีราชา

Tuesday 29th of May 2018 and the Pilot was on board just after 6 o'clock and we started to load a few minutes after 8 o'clock. I will go to take a rest after lunch as we, yet again, expect it to be a full night in the CCR. And we finish the first parcel in the late afternoon.
I had 4 mangos for lunch and our Charterer representative showed me how to make the green mango yellow and yummy. Wrapping them in news papers, but as we didn't had any old news papers we wrapped it in normal paper.

First parcel completed at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and we started the 2nd parcel 20 minutes later. This time we will only load 2 parcels, last parcel 120,000 Bbls and we expect to be ready 4 o'clock tomorrow morning. Now I hope I can fall asleep tonight so I'm full of vim tomorrow morning when they will call me, between 2 thirty and 3 o'clock.

Wednesday 30th of May 2018 and I was lucky! I managed to fall asleep around 9 o'clock or so so I was, if not full of vim, at least it was not hard to get out of bed when they called quarter to 3 o'clock in the morning.
We left Bongkot, บงกด just after 5 o'clock in the morning expecting to arrive to Map Ta Phut, มาบตาพุด in the middle of the night. So if the jetty is available it will be a full night again.

Thursday 31st of May 2018 and we were anchored when I came down to the CCR. Berthing on arrival had been changed to 12:00 so we had time to do the tank cleaning of cargo tank 7 STB. Gas freeing after departure tomorrow and we can hopefully finaly get down to ballast tank 6 STB to have a look at the leak between CT 7 and DB 6.
Well, the end of the month of May is finally here. But we just have to click HERE to find us in a what might turn out to be an exciting June adventure.
OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.
