Saturday 8th of June 2019 and I started my eBird app at 06:36 at the entrance to Suan Rot Fai when I step out from the taxi at Kamphaeng Phet 3 Road. I think I see a Stork-billed Kingfisher at the Kingfisher Pond and I went to check it out. Heavy rain yesterday so no bird watching and today the field was full of water. Actually so much water so the field and the Kingfisher pond was like one big lake.
One Asian Openbill and many herons on the field. Night Herons and Javan Pond Herons everywhere. The field is usually full of Cattle Egrets but breeding times and all herons and egrets are attending their nests in a tree somewhere. So there is only a very few egrets and herons around this time of the year.
Walking towards the Stork-billed Kingfisher nest and the Kingfisher is flying over me coming from behind flying towards the nest. I get a chock when I come to the nest, half the nest is on the ground. I really hope that it is the bird that have cracked the nest to let the babies out. I took a few pictures and I will send them to birdforum.net to see if they can clear it up for me.
Because I´m worried about the nest, maybe someone have destroyed the nest. I hope that they can proved me with some information at birdforum.net. And I hope they can provide good information so I don´t need to worry.

I had to walk around the pond to get to the owl area as the pond was full of water after the rain and the “stock” I use to cross the water on is submerged.
A Little Egret looking for food and what use to be a lawn, but du to the rain it had turned in to a pond. And the egret had company by a Javan Pond Heron. And today I got to see the whole Spotted Owlet family, 2 adults and 2 juveniles. No sign of the Asian Barred Owlet and I could hear several Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker on the wave bridge.
Sitting in the hide on the wave bridge and I spotted another White-breasted Waterhen and one Streak-eared Bulbul.

I walked around for 3 hours and it was very hot so it was nice to get in to the taxi and the air condition. It had been nice to stroll around for 3 hours in the park even though I didn´t see many birds. Well, maybe next time...
