  But I spotted one Asian Openbill in the pond, otherwise it was dead. They are changing the park in to something I don´t like. Trees and bushes are removed. Maybe because the want to get rid of snakes. But there are not many places to see birds. There is a lot of starlings, mynas and pigeons. And there are several Oriental Magpie-robins all over the park.  I walk another path today

 Leaving the Kingfisher Pond walking towards the Owl Area at the traffic school. I walk past a few Striated Herons that was very shy. Indian Rollers and there were several of them, but they ar every shy and hard to come close. I managed to get a video of a singing male Oriental Magpie-robin. Coming to the owl area and I spotted one Spotted Owlet sticking out the head from a hole in the tree.    Oriental Magpie-robin - Singing male

I leave the owl area walking towards the bridge to the Queen Sirikit Park and I pass a few Indian Rollers and a group of Scaly-breasted Munia. Crossing the bridge and I see two Streak-eared Bulbuls from the bridge, otherwise nothing. I cross the bridge after having taken pictures of the Streak-eared Bulbul. 6 weeks in Sweden so it is very hot for me here in Suan Rot Fai, will take a few days to adjust again. But I need water and I stopped to buy water when I was across the bridge. The wave bridge area was beyond recognition, most of the vegetation was removed and I could not see any birds at the bridge. I turn around to go back when the British guy that I met last time came down the wave bridge.   Streak-eared Bulbul

We talk about what we have seen during the morning. I told him about the Spotted Owlet in the tree and we walked over to the owl area to have a look. My new friend know a Stork-billed Kingfisher nest so we went to have a look. Nesting Stork-billed in our park is good news. And the Spotted Owlets have been nesting here since I came to the park the first time. We met another bird watcher at the owl area and the Spotted Owlets had left the hole and there were three of them sitting in the tree.  Spotted Owlet / นกเค้าจุด

On the way to look for the Stork-billed Kingfisher we passed an Olive-backed Sunbird building a nest. So I will be back to have a look, and if I have the time I will be back daily. We spotted the Stork-billed Kingfisher nest. GREAT! Nesting Stork-billed Kingfishers in or park. When I was back home I decided to go back tomorrow again.
