  Wednesday 10th of October 2012 and my alarm went off at 6 thirty. I was dead tired because I didn't fall asleep until way past 3 o'clock in the morning. I had 2 alarm going off just to make sure  I didn't overslept. I managed to get out of bed.
The only thing saving me from falling asleep again was the excitement. I'm quite exciting to get to the  acupuncture place, it is what we call hocus-pocus and mumbo jumbo in Sweden.
I had my “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ® with a pot of tea before I left for Sophia Muay Thai Gym. I arrived to Sophia 2 minutes after 8 and the security guard told me that the American girl had  arrived. But no sign of our Teacher. Well, we only had to wait for  another 2 minutes before our Teacher arrived.
It was early morning, but it was already very hot. Like a sauna, it had been heavy rain all night long and now the sun was shining and the water was steaming off and it was very hot. One of the security guards suffers from back pain and he was going to join us as well. We walked  to Asoke to look for a taxi. Heavy morning traffic and we  had to wait for quite a while before we found a taxi.
We turned left at Phetchaburi and we continued on Phetchaburi Road almost all the way to Banglamphu when we turned left  at Lan Luang. When we had crossed the canal we turned left and we drove down Krung Kasem Road along the canal until we reached the Hua Chiew hospital.
I had been half asleep all the way from Asoke to Hua Chiew hospital but I never managed to fall asleep. I needed sleep  because I was dead tired and I was  hoping that I could sleep while I had the acupuncture.
We entered the acupuncture department at Hua Chiew hospital and I expected a witch doctor around every corner. But no witch doctors to be  seen, at least not in the reception.
We checked in and I had to sign a declaration that I would not hold Hua Chiew hospital  responsible for anything that went wrong during the treatment.
I thought acupuncture was like God's gift to mankind and it would cure everything. I had planned to ask for the “Get handsome” treatment. But my urge for a “Get handsome” treatment disappeared after the signing “will not take any action against Hua Chiew hospital for DAMAGES” Imagine waking up like the Elephant Man after a acupuncture session at Hua Chiew hospital, what a  disappointment. So I decided just to have the acupuncture treatment for my shoulders and to skip the  “Get handsome” treatment.
We had to check blood pressure and stuff before we were approved for the acupuncture treatment. We were directed to room 304 on the third floor.  Room 304 at Hua Chiew hospital

There were about 10 beds separated by drapes in room 304. The security guard and I ended up next to each other and they told us to lie down on the beds. I felt asleep and I woke up when  someone asked me to take off my shoes. I looked up and there were 9  persons looking (1 beautiful girl) at me, 8 of them was holding a notebook writing down stuff while the senior witch Doctor did the talking
They told me to take of my shirt. Well, first they told me to lie down but they were soon realising that I needed to take off my shirt. A red shirt with Chinese writing on it, especially chosen due to the acupuncture adventure. The put needles in my back while I was taking pictures. I didn't feel when they put the needles so I never knew when they were ready with the sticking needles in to my back. But I discovered when they put electricity through the needles. Electricity?? I thought acupuncture was a thousand year old tradition. Obviously I will have to look that up.  Acupuncture at room 304 at Hua Chiew hospital

Well, anyway, I was for sure noticing when they hooked up the needles to electricity. The acupuncture experience turned unpleasant with the electricity. - We will come back in 1 hour to disconnect you  - 1 HOUR!!!!
- OK, we come back in 30 minutes. After 30 minutes they removed the needles and a girl appeared with a try with empty bottles. Now it was time for something the call bottling. She lighted up a flare to warm up the air in the bottles and she put them on my back. The air cools down creating a vacuum and thus sucking up the skin in the bottles. After a few minutes she removed the bottles with a PLOP leaving several hickeys on my back.  Acupuncture at room 304 at Hua Chiew hospital

Well, my shoulders didn't feel any better when we left Hua Chiew hospital. But I recall reading  somewhere about acupuncture to cure baldness and to help you with the diet. After going from failure to failure  with the “MAGIC HAIR STUFF” and the “Best looking guy in town” diet I might go for some acupuncture.
We took a taxi back to Sophia Muay Thai Gym and our Teacher asked me if I wanted to go for some lunch. We walked back to Asoke and a new restaurant. They had started to build the place last time I was home and I saw the progress walking back home from Bangkok Fight Club in the evenings. We had something to eat and I flushed down the food with a cup  of tea. The American girl and our Teacher went back to Sophia for their session and I would be back at 1 thirty for my session.
I didn't have much time, just a quick cuppa and a change of clothes before I walked back to Sophia Muay Thai Gym for my session. Our Teacher and the American girls was sittin gin the ring when I arrived. - This is not the spirit we're looking for.
I was soon in the ring and we did 11 rounds with the mitts before I walked back home. The Security Guard at the gate told me that  there was a parcel for me at the office.  I went in to the office and there was a huge parcel and I suspected that it was my shoes, finally.
They had been here to  deliver my shoes while I was at Sophia. I have tried to get the shoes delivered with several different online shoe stores. All of them in US of A, last time I ordered shoes I got them delivered from UK and this last online shoe shop was also a shop in UK. And no import tax!!! Last time I got 4 pairs and I had to pay 3 or 4000 Baht in import tax. Now I got 12 pairs   and ZIP in import tax.
So I was in a very good mood when I carried the parcel to my apartment. The Office staff asked me if I needed help with the parcel. - No, I'm a... - You're a sportsman! - Yes, so I can take the parcel by myself. I was back home very early as I had started my Thai boxing session at Sophia Muay Thai Gym early so I had plenty time to kill. I had planned to take a taxi to Banglamphu and walk around the  area for a few hours.
I took a taxi to Khao San Road via the tool way and I walked around Banglamphu for a while. Can't say that I was full of vim, pain in my legs, almost felt like I was having fever. I passed a burger King and I  saw a picture of a fish burger and it looked delicious. I'm on diet so I just walked by, but I turned around after 100 meters and I went back to Burger King and I ordered one of their delicious looking “DOUBLE”  fish burgers. Of course, I had fish and chips on my mind so I asked for some fries to go with my burger.
- You want cola? - A bottle of water thanks. I never learn, my fish burger didn't look even close to as good as the one on the menu, and it didn't tasted as good as I had  expected. I really wish they had the Fish'n chips restaurant they have in Pattaya here in Bangkok. Goose's fish & chips, the only reason to go to Pattaya. And their rhubarb pie, foock,  I'm off to Pattaya in a taxi right now...
Well, I forgot that I was on the “Best looking guy in town '12” diet so it will have to be  another time. But Goose's fish & chips restaurant in Pattaya is highly recommended by Aladdin. And a HOT tip!
Ask for the fish fingers with chips and mashed peas instead of the fish and chips. And  of course, a bucket of tea with rhubarb pie. And tell them to fill up the plate with custard sauce. I always get my rhubarb pie with a brimmed plate custard sauce.
Well, anyway, I left Burger King and I was feeling better with my fever and I was full of vim and I walked up Soi Damnoen Klang Nuea and I crossed  Ratchadamnoen at the Democracy Monument.
I walked up Dinso Road until I passed a  barber shop. I decided to get a haircut.
A trimmer on 0 in order to make the bald spot a wee bit less obvious. I don't know if it helps, but I felt better when I left the barber shop. They have a big square between the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration City Hall and the Sutat Temple. I could hear the music and when I came closer I discovered aerobics. Nice to see that they still have the aerobics going on. Quite popular in Bangkok, at least some 10  years ago when you could see aerobics in every park and parking lot. And yes, I participated at the aerobics in the Benchasiri Park. Yes, we can just imagine... Not a nice view.
Well, anyway, I walked around for a few hours like I used to do back in the days before I started  at Bangkok Fight Club. It is very nice and as soon as you come off the beaten tracks the Thai people start to turn cartwheels as soon as they discover that you can count to 10 in Thai.
So it is very fun, the only set back is that I don't go to Bangkok Fight Club, but there is so much people. Well, the biggest setback with my  constitutionals is the restaurants. I have been home for 2 weeks now and I have been out for a few hours every day. And I have only made it back  home 3 times without stopping at a restaurant to eat. Well, make it 2 times, one night it was too late and I stopped at Tops Market. I bought salmon and sausages.
I know what sausages I like in Sweden, but not in Thailand. So I bought plenty different sausages that I brought back home and I had an “middle of the night” sausage buffet in my kitchen. For sure not good for my diet. 
Well, the acupuncture adventure have come to an end and I'm looking forward to my Thai language school adventure tomorrow afternoon. And by the way, all the sausages in my sausage buffet tasted very good. Not that I will remember what sausages I bought next time I will buy sausages, but I can at least hope that I will be lucky to pick the good ones.
