Friday 10th of August 2018 and I was not very excited to get on board any flights, and I will have to fly Copenhagen to Stockholm and from there to Manchester. But I was excited about the outing with RSPB, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds tomorrow morning.
My Guide will come to pick me up at my hotel, Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port tomorrow morning and we will drive to Hoylake to look for waders. This I´m excited about and the only thing that will make me stand the flights. So I was looking forward to yet another birding adventure, but not the flights. But a little suffer to get a good time, well, I´m up for it.
My flight leave Copenhagen at 13:25 and I will leave Helsingborg 10 o´clock and I will have some time to kill at Kastrup, Copenhagen International Airport.
My bag is ready and I can leave Marina Plaza and Helsingborg
Arriving to Kastrup International
The train leaves again
Taking the escalator to the check-in
Self-check-in and I had to ask for help with my luggage tags. Drop my luggage and passing the security. I had forgot my small folding knife for my picnic lunches in my back pack. They guy acted like he had caught the biggest terrorist in the world. Biggest in the world maybe, but no terrorist. I just looked at him.
He looked to be in a hurry to get back home to his children to tell them about his day at work.
- DADDY DADDY!!!! You´r a hero!
He told me that I was looking very unconcerned about this big bust. Well, I told him that for me it was nothing important, quite an insignificant finding.
- I can buy a bottle of vodka and create more damage than with my pathetic folding knife.
- You want to be grounded?
I left ¤w¤¤man and I went to the lounge were I had some soda water while waiting for Scandinavian Airlines flight SK1422 to Stockholm.

Arriving to Arlanda
I had some time to kill at Arlanda International and there was a lounge close to the departure gate so I had some soda water, nothing taste as good as a “free” soda water, well, maybe a free MAX But there were no MAX to be seen in the lounge. No more security checks so I bought a bottle of MAX to have during my flight.
I was sitting at the gate and it didn´t look to be many passengers for flight SK 2540 to Manchester. Well, I guess it is depending on the size of the plane. But it should be a proper sized plane, hopefully!

Waiting at the gate
Boarding and I was very pleased to discover that I had my own row of seats and I moved from the aisle to the window. I always ask for aisle but if I´m alone I move to the window.
Waiting for the boarding to complete and I sent a few stupid Line messages and we were soon air borne flying over Sweden towards Manchester. I enjoyed my MAX and time was actually passing quite quickly. Would of course have been another story if my row would have been full of passengers. Well, sometimes I am lucky.

On the way to Manchester
Descending to Manchester and I was kind of excited as I was really looking forward to the birding around Liverpool. Especially if I can see some waders in breeding plumage as we only see them in winter plumage in Thailand.
Passing through immigration and custom in Manchester and I stopped at a minimart on the way to the taxi stand. I bought some milk and MAX to have a little something to enjoy in my hotel room later on in the evening.
I went to the taxi stand and the first thing I saw was a couple of Common Starlings and I dropped my luggage and I tried to get a few pictures. And they were really not very easy to get on picture as they were jumping around all the time. It is a very beautiful bird, looking plain dark, but in the sunshine you can see all the colours of the bird.
One hour waiting time for an airport car so I took an ordinary car and it would cost me 70£ from Manchester International to Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port. The hotel I had choose because it is just next to the Manchester Ship Canal. And it took us an hour or so to reach Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port. Very friendly and helpful staff and I got my room in a jiff. A very nice room and I could look out over the old docks that is now turned in to a museum with old locks etc.

In the taxi on my way to Ellesmere Port
I liked my room, had everything I needed, well, except for a fridge for my milk. This was of course a set-back as I need to have milk for my tea. I put my bottle in the window, but they offered me milk that didn´t need to be in the fridge.
I went for dinner in the restaurant and I had for sure not expected much. But the food was excellent and I was very happy with the hotel. The evening was spent in my room and my new friend from RSPB will come to pick me up at 9 o´clock tomorrow morning.

OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.
