Sunday 22nd of July 2018 and I left Skultuna Brukshotell quarter to 5 and I reached Edens Garden Bed & Breakfast, Cottages and Tourist Activities at 5 o'clock. No need for morning coffee or any introduction and we were soon on the water to look for beavers.
We followed the same path as we went yesterday. But we were soon turning around going back the other direction to the lake. Didn't seem to be any beavers up stream so we decided to go have a look at the lake. Yet another gorgeous morning and I enjoyed the cruise.

Time turned quick and we were soon on our way back to the bridge. No beavers today, it had been a gorgeous morning, but I was a little disappointed with the beavers. I left Edens Garden Bed & Breakfast, Cottages and Tourist Activities after having taken a few pictures of a Juvenile White Wagtail. I had to back to Skultuna Brukshotell to get my luggage.
I was soon on my way towards Hotel Gyllene Uttern at Lake Vättern in the south. I will stay one night at Gyllene Uttern before continue to Helsingborg.
I stop to buy a soft ice cream

I arrive to Hotel Gyllene Uttern around 1 o'clock in the afternoon. They told me that it was check-in at 16:00. I was just wondering “what the duck?” I asked the guy why they didn't kept international standard for check-in. 16:00, never heard off.
I decided to go to Gränna and take the ferry to Visingsö. My friend had recommended me to visit the island. Driving through Gränna in the middle of the tourist season was not any nice experience. Small town with small narrow streets and many cars and caravans. Already driving to the ferry and I didn't had much hope of finding any space for the car on board the ferry.
Visingsö
Visingsö is an island in the southern half of Lake Vättern in Sweden. Visingsö lies 30 kilometres north of the city Jönköping and 6 kilometres west of Gränna from which two car ferries connect the island. The island is 14 kilometres long and 3 kilometres wide, with a total area of 24 square kilometres.
According to legend, a giant named Vist created Visingsö by throwing a lump of soil into the lake so that his wife could use it to step over the lake.

Ad yes, there were plenty cars at the ferry so I turned around driving back towards Gyllene Uttern to go check out the Västanå Nature reserve to walk along Röttlestigen to look for birds. I turn right when I'm almost back at Gyllene Uttern and I drive down the small road towards Västanå Nature reserve and I have a beautiful view over Lake Vättern.
I find a parking and a sign saying “Röttlestigen” and stairs going down towards Lake Vättern
It is a beautiful walk path through the forest, crossing a stream, but not one single bird was seen. Well, I saw a Blackbird. But I never got any picture.

Back at the village
I'm back in the village, a beautiful village and I look for a Cafe, only one but it didn't look very interesting so I went back to the car. I passed a place where they were selling fresh cherry. But they had just sold the last ones. So I drove back to Gyllene Uttern.
I had my dinner when I came back to Gyllene Uttern and then I went to check-in. Now they told me that I had to live in the “annex”
- Annex!!??
- Yeah, you better take the car
- I expect to live in the castle, the only reason for me to stay here!
This was bad, when I book a room at Gyllene Uttern I expect to stay in the castle. But they send me to some annex “you better take the car” Yeah, I could as well have continued to Helsingborg or I could have stayed in another hotel. Gyllene Uttern, situated along a huge highway so it is obvious that it is the castle that makes me want to stay here. Not to live in a barrack.
Well, never again, and I will not bother to stop to eat here again.

I think it was against the law to pass Gyllene Uttern without stopping for a meal in the castle. So I have stopped here every time passing, but this was the last time. I took the car to the barrack and I found my room. BOOM! And I was asleep! I had decided to leave for Helsingborg early tomorrow morning.
There is only one program that you can listen to in the Swedish Radio now a days. The “Nature Morning” on Saturday mornings. Otherwise it is just brain washing and propaganda from early morning to late evening. Anyway, I use to listen to the “Nature Morning” and last Saturday it was about White stork in Skåne and I decided to go have a look.
OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.
