Monday 12th of March 2017 and we left Gadkhali, Gateway to Sundarbans a few minutes after 1 o'clock bound for the Pipal Tree Hotel in New Town. It took a few minutes to walk to the meeting point. No sign of the car and we called the driver. He was parked up the road and he was soon coming down the road to pick us up.
Coming ashore in Gadkhali, Gateway to Sundarbans
The car come to pick us up.
We were soon sitting in the van and we expect 3 hours to reach New Town in Kolkata. Can't say that it is exciting to go along the Indian roads anymore. I think I have seen everything by now. But there is for sure things to look at hissing by in the van. We were hauling arse, 106 km to Kolkata and that will be just above 30km/h average speed if we will make it in 3 hours. Normal average speed on the Indian roads.
We made it to Pipal Tree Hotel in 2 and a half hour and I went to have a shower. There is a huge shopping mall 3 minutes’ walk from the hotel and I will go there to look for Diet Pepsi in the evening. But first a shower and a little relaxing in the room.

On our way
OK, I thought I had seen everything available on the Indian roads
The shopping mall looked modern so I was disappointed when I saw the Super Market. It was for sure not looking like a place with Diet Pepsi. And right I was, no Diet Pepsi. Well, I'm most likely better off without the Pepsi.
And I went straight from one set back to another setback, there was a 5 star hotel, and international hotel chain so the food will be good. I went inside to check out the restaurant.
The food was good and they had fresh bread and earl grey tea. Next safari, we will stay at a resort with luxury tents, but I doubt that they will have any good food like this so it was worth the visit, and the agony. Luxury tent, luxury room, luxury boat and luxury apartments. Luxury is a very misused word in this part of the world.

The Super Market and I had not any high hopes to find Diet Pepsi
Reading the newspaper
I was reading the newspaper while having my dinner. There was news about a tiger attacking a man and now they are chasing the tiger with a drone. Then they will tranquilise the tiger and bring the animal back to the forest. Anyway, I'm off to Nagpur tomorrow for more tiger safari. Click HERE to see how that turns out.
OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.
