Friday 31st of October 2025
and AOT Limousine calls me 20 minutes before 2 o'clock in the morning. The Driver had arrived and I told him that I would be down in 5 minutes.

We leave and I ask the Driver to take me to gate #10 at Suvarnabhumi International, the gate where the TAX REFUND is located. I realize that I have forgot my TAX REFUND receipt and I have to go back to my room to get the receipt.

2 o'clock in the morning so no traffic and we make it to gate #10 at Suvarnabhumi International in no time. I get my receipt stamped at the TAX REFUND and I will pick up the cash on the departure side.

Early morning and Suvarnabhumi is almost empty so it was kind of nice. I find the check-in row for Malaysia Airlines and the check-in is open.

Check-in is quick and I am soon through both security and the immigration. Automatic pass port reader so this was done in a jiff.

Breakfast

I have a couple of hours to kill and I am getting hungry. I look for a place serving breakfast and there is a small bar and I ask if they have tea.

The have grilled cheese and ham sandwiches. Earl Grey tea and I kill the time there until it is time to get to gate G1 to board Malaysia Airlines Flight MH 797 to Kuala Lumpur.

Time turns kind of quick and it is soon 04:40 and I go to the gate to board the flight. Great surprise, boarding is not on time and I take a seat at the gate.

There are not many people waiting at the gate so I am looking forward to a seat next to me during the flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Two hours to Kuala Lumpur and time passed very quick. I dozed off in the chair and when they brought the food, I just wanted a bottle of water.

Impossible to sleep but I was dozing off getting some micro sleep. I am very tired so it was impossible to stay asleep, and it was impossible to sleep in the chair.

Getting off the plane in Kuala Lumpur and I was quickly finding out that we have to take the train to the immigration and luggage claim at the main terminal.

A couple of minutes waiting for the train, looking to be almost empty when I was waiting. I got onboard and I got one of the very few seats on the train. And the train turned out to be full so I was lucky that I boarded first at my door.

I found the seaman's desk at the immigration. Our Agent was waiting for me, and I meet our 3rd Engineer that had arrived to join Maersk Cancun as well. There are three more crew members waiting for on the other side of the immigration.

So, we will be 5 people in total joining Maersk Cancun in Tanjung Langsat.

Of course, they had got my passport number wrong so there was a delay while waiting for the new papers. I went to a restaurant to have some tea, but the Agent came to pick me up before I had a chance to order anything.

I went to buy some refreshments before going to the van that will brin Bus to Tanjung Langsat

The refreshments will come in handy as we expect 4 to 5 hours to reach Maersk Cancun in Tanjung Langsat. Five passengers plus the driver, but the van was very comfy with plenty space.

The rest of the guys were soon asleep, but again, it was impossible to stay asleep, and it was impossible to sleep in the chair.

Dozzing off every now and then, but I was enjoying the landscape outside the window most of the time. It said 300 km and we were making 120 km/h so I expected us to do the trip much quicker than 4 to 5 hours.

We are making a stop for lunch at one of those road side centres, and we went to KFC. No milk shakes and I had a bottle of water with my not so good tasting burgers.

No milk shake, but I have an ice cream for dessert and, well, not good for my diet. Never mind I have not have had any ice cream for several months. Walking back to the car and I spot one ice cream place next to the car.

I went inside to see if they have any milk shakes. They had milk shakes and I asked for a mango shakes topped with whipped cream.

Excellent shake and I enjoyed my shake going outside to join the rest of the guys smoking outside before we continued our trip.

Coming out and I drop the shake, disappointments, but at the same time, I was happy. I did not feel so good ordering the shake, too much sugar. I have had more sugar in one day than I have had for a very long time.

We continue towards south and we make one more quick stop 40 minutes before reaching Tanjung Langsat, and I have one ice cream. Now there will not be any more ice cream until 2026 or 27.

We stop at a police station before reaching the terminal, to check our luggage. The police open the car and look in my computer bag that I show him. The easiest bag and then we continue to meet the Agent and she takes our passports.

We enter the terminal and we have to change car as we are not allowed down on the jetty in our car. It is about 16 thirty when I come on board. We are discharging gasoline and we will reload the gasoline and brin it to three different ports in the Philippines.
