  Page is tested in Fire Fox, Chrome and Safari. Looks like it works OK in all browsers, except the sounds in Safari. Of course, browsing www.aladdin.st in Safari on an iPad is a different story, nothing looks as it should   Tuesday 6th of August 2013 and we completed discharging at 13:00 and Pilot was booked for 14:30 and we left Marmaraereglisi just after 3 o'clock in the afternoon. We dropped our anchor outside Marmaraereglisi to wait for our new fire extinguishers and they came on board around 9 thirty in the evening and we heaved up our anchor at 11 o'clock in the evening. And it seems like we got our discharge port for the next voyage, Alexandria, Egypt.  Yes, Egypt is exactly what I'm dreaming off. I have never been to Alexandria, but if it is like the rest of Egypt I wouldn't mind go somewhere else. And I have seen the pyramids already and I have no wish to see them again and most likely, I will never see them again.

Wednesday 7th of August 2013 and we were anchored waiting to pass the Dardanelles when I came on the bridge at 8 o'clock in the morning. Still no news when we can pass through the Dardanelles. I  expected us to wait for a few hours, but there was no news during my watch. So I enjoyed my tea while  studying the Turkish coast line through the binocular.
We will have a barge coming for our slop when we have passed the Dardanelles so I went on deck with Pump Man after lunch to lie up for discharging of the slop and to wash the slop tank after the discharge. 2 of our Engineers were on deck and it looked like our 2nd Engineer was showing the ropes to our 4th Engineer. I went for a power nap when I was ready on deck and when I woke up for dinner I learned that we would heave up the anchor 8 o'clock tonight. I also learned that the slop discharging was cancelled and we would do it when loading in Aliaga on the 12th of August.  I guess you have noticed some changes on my web page. I have signed up for some advertising on my web page. BidVertiser and SpeedyAds will pay me for every click on their ads and I expect to  make a million very soon. Our previous 4th Engineer inspired me, he had made 1 (ONE) Euro in 3 months.
But I didn't like the BidVertiser add, just a big PLAY button and a DOWNLOAD button. So I will most likely take off this ad very soon. We heaved up our anchor at 8 and we steamed slowly towards Gelibolu on a WSW'erly course. We  will take the Pilot for the Dardanelles at Gelibolu at 23:00 so it was slow steaming. There were plenty traffic and time turned very quick, but I had time for a jug of tea before I went on deck 10 minutes before 11 to meet the Pilot.
IT was a beautiful evening and we had several cruise ships going up and down the Dardanelles. It was soon midnight and I was back in my cabin. I came down to my cabin just
I had tried the page when I joined BidVertiser and it looked strange with a window covering my web page There was a picture attached to one of the e-mails and if I had any doubts to remove the ad  before the picture they were definitely removed after seeing the picture.
For sure, if they want to cover my web page with the foocking Jungle Frog it will cost much more than 1 Euro per month. But the SpeedyAds looks good and I will keep them for a day or two to see how they work. I don't expect to make anything out of these ads, but just fun to try, and one € is one € more than ZERO € Well, we see hot this new adventure turns out, but there won't be any more Jungle Frogs on my web page, at least not for a while. Thursday 8th of August 2013 and we were anchored South of the island Boscaada when I came on the bridge at 8 o'clock in the morning. Boscaada is just South of the Dardanelles and we had dropped anchor early morning when we left the Dardanelles behind. It was a beautiful morning with  sunshine and a blue sky, but the wind was picking up during the morning. I enjoyed  my tea and I called our Mess Man and he poured a jar of our honey from Novorossiysk for me.
Tea and honey and I felt like a million but time was quite slow, nothing much happened at the anchorage. But there were more action after the lunch. Our Pump Man and I went down void space #3 for an inspection and to try the bilge alarm. We had one of the ABs watching the manhole while we went down the void space, about 18 meters down to the bottom of the ship. And we want to take the opportunity when we're in ballast, it would be too hot to go down if we have hot cargo in the cargo tanks.  Pump Man coming down to the void space

I went to make the inspection report when we were back up on deck again. And when I finished some more monthly tests I went for a powernap. And my power nap turned out to be an hour  wasted  in bed trying to sleep. Well, it might be easier to fall asleep tonight then.
I had really put much hope to the magnesium fizzy tablets. According to a HOT tip they would help me falling asleep. And I had spent a wee of bit money on the darn magnesium. But they might need a few days before they get any effect. But at least I get some +++++++++++++++
Friday 9th of August 2013 and we were drifting South of Nisos Lesvos when I came on the bridge at 8 o'clock. I had arranged for a jar of honey yesterday and I was looking forward to some tea  and honey.
 - What the 
The jar was empty and no one had give a foock to refill the jar. So I called the AB on the radio and I was soon having a new jar of Russian honey, size XL. And this time I hide the jar on the bridge. Our 2nd Officer's nephew had been going through all the trouble to bring on board the honey, so I could at least do  my best to try to enjoy the honey and I need to hide it to be able to do that.
We are just drifting South of Nisos Lesvos and there isn't very much happening so time was pretty slow. But the clock turned 12 and I went for my lunch and when we have had the lunch it is time to go inspect void spaces. And today we will inspect 2 void spaces and the last one will be inspected tomorrow. I had prepared the work permits  and risk assessments on the bridge so we just held a toolbox meeting in my office after lunch. Of course, gas measuring before we could start the inspection. We threw ourselves down void space  #4 to start with.
Looked like new and we were soon down in void space #5 and this space looked like new as well. I told the crew to close the hatches and when they were done they could prepare void space #6 for inspection and we can finish this tomorrow. I made the inspection reports and I went +++++++++++++++
Saturday 10th of August 2013 and I was dead tired when my alarm went off at 7 thirty. It was around 4 before I managed to fall asleep. Tossin' and turnin' pondering the idea of signing up for the “Good sleep” SMS. Well, it would be a waste of money as I don't have my phone. Well, a hot shower is better than most of the SMS I can think of and I was on the bridge at 8 and 10 minutes later I had a jug of tea with honey in my hand.
We were going to held our drills after the coffee break, of course, never any coffee breaks for  the Chief Officer and he went straight to the CCR at 10 thirty. Today we had planned for a fire in the kitchen drill.
I brought the crew to the kitchen and we demonstrated the use of the fire blankets and the CO2 fire extinguisher system in the kitchen fans. When we were ready we let go the fire alarm and we had 2 smoke diving teams ready to enter the kitchen. One team stand-by and we had one team to enter the kitchen with a fire hose and the fire was  soon extinguished. We tested the emergency fire pump with 2 fire hoses before we returned the equipment.
We meet in my office before we started with the oil spill drill. Bunker on deck and we were running the oil spill pump and the crew had a chance to test the pump. We took a round on the ship looking at the different oil spill equipment on board before we went to the engine room to have a rescue from enclosed space drill. The plan was to bring him out from the emergency exit from the bottom of the engine room. There is a  shaft from the bottom of the engine room to deck used as an emergency exit.
And we have a tackle in the shaft to hoist up people from the engine room. So we had a team on deck to hoist up the crew member from the engine room. The rest of the crew went down to the engine room and we donned the safety harness on the guy (we used a dummy for this purpose) and we heave up the dummy on deck. The drill turned out to a great success and we were in a food mood when we continued to the emergency generator. We had the crew to start the  generator before we continued to the lifeboat.
The crew needs to know how to start the life boat engine as well and we repeat these drills frequently. So repeated drills and tests are necessary in order to know it by heart. Easy to start, but when the ship is sinking and everyone is running  around in panic the simplest thing can turn out to be an impossible task. And after 100 drills it is done by reflex,  hopefully even  with the fire around. But no one knows how they will react in distress until they have experienced distress. So even though it seems like a waste of time it can turn out to save your life to repeat all these drills. ALWAYS PREPARED!

2nd Engineer shows how to start the Emergency Generator We had a life boat and MOB boat muster on the bridge when we had completed all the drills. By now it was time for lunch, and I was hungry. But our 2nd Engineer had to have an environmental meeting with us before we could go for lunch. It was almost 12 thirty when I came down to the mess room so I had a very quick lunch before it was time to inspect our last void space with our Pump Man.
We did the work permit and risk assessment after lunch and we went down the void space #6 just before 1 o'clock. Only one entrance in void space #6 and we had to have the ventilation duct in the  same shaft we were climbing up and down.
The void space looked like the other void spaces, like new and we were back up on deck 30 minutes later. Filling up the report and I was in my cabin by 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I went to bed for the shortest of power naps. I had planned to watch some videos to Learn Thai with Mod and Alif Silpachai later on in the afternoon. By the foocking time, I have not been  studying any Thai for a very long time now.
And I sleept, no problem to fall asleep +++++++++++++++
Sunday 11th of August 2013 and we were still anchored when I came on the bridge at 8 o'clock. The honey jar was empty and I asked for a refill and I learned that this was the last of our honey from Novorossiysk.
- How is that possible? I asked
We had a drum of honey and I have hardly been eating any honey. Our 2nd officer came asking for honey at 12 o'clock. - Where is the honey? Mess Man said he gave the last honey to you this morning   - I don't know
He had the big plate with him and I never seen so much ice cream before in my life so he is not suffering. And I suggested that he should bring a jar of the Turkish honey.
- We have plenty of the Turkish honey - I want honey from Novorossiysk!! And I could really have used We spent an hour for dinner talking about the really good time hundreds of years ago and I just had time for the latest updates on my webpage before it was time to go to the bridge for tea and some of the last honey from Novorossiysk. I have a secret jar on the bridge  The Greek island Nisos Lesvos when we approach Aliaga
We were moving towards the Aliaga anchorage when I came on the bridge. We will tender our Notice of Readiness 1 minute after midnight and we will drop our anchor around 11 o'clock. So I  had time for a jug of tea with honey from Novorossiysk before it was time to go to the fo'c's'le to drop the anchor.
We were steaming east on a course 090° with slow ahead with a very strong head wind. We had the Greek island Lesvos in the North with the sun setting behind the island. These Greek  islands are very close to the Turkish mainland. Actually so close they can throw rocks  at each other. Looking at the map and it looks like Turkish islands.
But you’re soon to discover that the islands are named Nisos something and when they are named Nisos you know they are Greek islands. I’m not sure, but I dare to bet a dollar or even two that Nisos means island in Greek. We dropped anchor at 22:54 and I was soon in my bed. And I had decided to open my Thai books
I got a e-mail with a picture of a  LEGO ship so now I know someone busy playing in the  bath tub. Take it easy there sailor!
I kep myself busy preparing the back ground sound for yet another video when I came down from my watch and I will see if I get the  opportunity to upload my U TUBE videos here in Aliaga. Well, anchored in Aliaga and it is time to split this month in to a third part, so HANG ON!
