  Monday 3rd of September 2018 and the driver drops me at the Tanglin Gate. The daylight is breaking and I start by looking for the Striated Heron from yesterday. No sign of the bird, but I see two waterhens. I walk to the Swan Lake to look for the Yellow Bittern and the Blue-eared Kingfisher. I wait around for a while but no sign of the birds and I walk towards the Shaw Symphony Stage and the Symphony Lake to look for the Night Heron, Red-legged Crake and the Blue-eared Kingfisher. Monday morning and there should not be any music at the Shaw Symphony Stage. And there is not so much people around so it was nice to walk around. I come to the clock tower and as I was a little hungry I bought two sandwiches at the snack shop and I had a picnic breakfast.  Swan Lake

I finsih my breakfast and I walk towards the Symphony Lake. There is an annoying drizzle and it will soon start to rain again. No sign of the Night Heron, Red-legged Crake and the Blue-eared Kingfisher. But I spot a beautiful Olive-backed Sunbird.   Olive-backed Sunbird

I was walking toward the Nassim Gate going back to Bliss Hotel due to the rain. I see a bird in the bushes, looked to be reddish on the top. Looked like a Woodpecker, but what is a Woodpecker doing in the bushes? The Woodpecker was looking for food but when I approached the bird took off to a tree. Well, I have quite a few birds to keep my eyes out for next time in Singapore. It was a Laced Woodpecker and I never got any good picture. But it was a new bird for me and now I have seen 3 or 4 new birds, but no pictures.  Laced Woodpecker

I left Singapore Botanical Garden in taxi that had dropped one passenger and I was soon on my way to China Town and the Bliss Hotel. Packing my bag and I went to the Japanese Restaurant at China Town Point to have my lunch. I discovered that the whole staff was from Thailand. I had thought that I could hear them speak Thai during my previous meals there. But today the paper roll in the credit card machine came to an end and they were working with this and I could hear that they were speaking Thai. I asked if they had problem in Thai and she just replied in Thai like nothing. If she would have been speaking Swedish with me I would have been surprised. I left the hotel in a GRAB at 1 o'clock in the afternoon and I was soon sitting in Thai Airway lounge at Changi International Terminal 1  My flight

Back home and there is an e-mail. I will join Ribe Mærsk in Djibouti on the 9th of september. I had asked for 3 days of birding before joining last week so I will fly on the 5th of september. SO I will only have time to pack and to do some boxing exercises. So I was lucky that I had voted in the General election in Sweden before leaving for Singapore. I was at the Embassy last week to vote and I had brought my own ballot paper that “Alternativ För Sverige” had sent to me in Bangkok. I don't expect them to have the ballot papers at the embassy as “Alternativ För Sverige” is a new party. 
They had sent me a few extra ballot papers so I brought them to the embassy to leave them there to make it convenient for others to vote for “Alternativ För Sverige”. Otherwise you will have to write “Alternativ För Sverige” on a blank ballot.  Alternativ För Sverige, and I double check it several time to make sure it say Alternativ För Sverige
I had voted at home so I just needed to bring my ballot to the Embassy. I had expected to be alone but there were plenty people to vote. I was behind a women and I was sure she would vote for Fi! A party of activists with crazy ideas and they hate “Alternativ För Sverige” and they call them Nazis. 
The woman told me that it took long time for the people ahead of us to vote. I told her that it was because it took long time to write “Alternativ För Sverige” by hand. She just gaped at me. It was my turn and I discovered that the had ballot papers for “Alternativ För Sverige” So I felt stupid carrying around all my “Alternativ För Sverige” ballot papers. DARN!!!!! They also had Fi! ballot papers! Should I take them and throw them where they belong?  I hand my ballot papers that I have put in an envelop to the guy at the embassy. He put it in a bigger envelop and he hold up the envelop before he put it in the ballot box. Just to show me that my votes will be counted. - GOOD! I said, now we get a new party in the Parliament in 2 weeks!! He just looked at me like I was crazy and the people behind me was laughing. Not a (you are crazy laugh) it was more like a (yes, we had enough by the crooks running Sweden so far) I had kept an eye on "Alternativ för Sverige" pile of ballot papers. Nothing I should do, but I could not help myself and I saw that I was not alone to vote for "Alternativ för Sverige".  Lining up to vote at the Swedish Embassy

I was happy when I left the Embassy. I walked down to Sukhumvit Soi 18 where I will meet a friend for dinner at a Swedish restaurant I had never heard of before. Cajutan and well, it was expensive, nothing on the plates and I will never bother to come back here again. The dessert was called “chocolate orgasm” and it was, well, not any good. A lump of chocolate and, well, I felt bad when I left. And my other friend told me he had thought the same when he had been there a few months ago. Yes, he had not been impressed.  The salmon was good, but there was not much of the salmon

My friends had finished their food long before I got my food. Seriously, so unprofessional. I was lucky that the garlic bread was good and I had a few plates before my food came.
