Thursday 20th of February 2014 and I will go to check out Bangkok Wing Chung tonight. The Teacher from Bangkok Fight Club called me yesterday. He has started at a new club and he wanted me to join the club.
- I come see you tomorrow
- OK, see you at Wing Chun
But first I have to do my daily boxing session and then I'm off to my Thai school. And I will take off to Bang Na after my daily ration of salmon sashimi at Tokhai Japanesse restaurant.
I got an e-mail before I left for Bangkok Wing Chu. It was from a review page. I had submitted a review of my Toshiba Qosmio laptop and one reader had found it useful. So that is one person buying something else. The Toshiba Qosmio was a complete waste of money. Yes, writing reviews, what a waste of time!
At least this is what I thought until a few years back. I really find the hotel reviews useful. And as I like to read reviews I realised that I had to do the same. And now it seems like I have saved at least one person from wasting money on the Toshiba Qosmio. And by the way, I bought a new 27" SAMSUNG screen the other day, all my SAMSUNG products are working like a dream.
Facebook, a total waste of time according to me. But I changed my mind after having ordered my shoes online. I got a receipt that my shoes was on the way. Good, I had paid 500$ and I wanted my shoes.
I got an e-mail after a week that my shoes were out of stock, but they had their best people on the job and they should soon be on the way. Months passed by and I never heard from them even though I sent several e-mails. What to do? I was thinking about Facebook, they must have a Facebook page!
Yes, they had, and I posted about my order. I think you can imagine what kind of words I was using so no need to elaborate here.
And yes, I had my money back within a jiff! So Facebook came in to use. I was instantly thinking about my ecco sandals I bought a few years back. I bought a pair and it was to most comfortable sandals I had ever used. So I bought 5 more pairs and I kept them in my shoe cabinet. And when I had worn out my first pair after 2 years I just grabbed a new pair in my cabinet. I still remember this day like it was yesterday.
I was just going to dash off to 7 Eleven, 100meters away and I was bare foot when I stepped in to 7 Eleven. My ecco sandals had literally vanished from under my feet. So I took a few pictures and I put them on ecco shoes Facebook. I got a reply on how sorry they were and there was a form to fill up. This is several months ago and no news from ecco.
I have made a pair of 20$ sneakers in to a pair of GOOD MORNING BOOTS by cutting off the back side, better than my ecco shoes, but not very comfortable. But now I have bought 2 pairs of Timberland sandals, 82,9€ per pair so it should be good quality.
For sure, can't be worse than ecco.
I spent 600 US$ ++ on my ecco shoes
Never used ecco shoes falling apart

I turn a pair of 20 US$ sneakers in to a pair of GOOD MORNING BOOTS
20$ and superior quality to comparing to the 100$ ++ ecco sandals
Yes, we remember my ECCO sandals, I put millions of the above pictures on internet. As soon as I find a review page or an ECCO Facebook I upload the pictures. 150 US per pair and I bought 5 or 6 pairs. Yes, yet another item to put on my “what I never have to do in my life again” list. 5 pairs should last me until I'm running out of life. But I had to remove the ECO item from the list.
I was going to meet the Teacher at the gas stop at Bang Na sky train station at 19:30. I left home around 6 thirty to have a look for a taxi.
Took me more than one hour to get to Bang Na so I called the Teacher. The class starts at 7 so there is no way we will make it in time to the gas stop. I asked him to explain the way for the taxi driver and we would go straight to Bangkok Wing Chun
I was at Bangkok Wing Chun just after 7. We passed through the Thai Navy sport club and it was quite far. And to start 7 o'clock in the evening and it would be at least 2 to 3 hours travel time back and forth per day.
I got out of the taxi and the place looked very nice. Big windows to the street so I could see the Teacher and I also recognised the young Thai girl from Bangkok Fight Club. Well, windows to the street are nothing I wish for. We can imagine the neighbourhood gaping at 2 ton Aladdin through the windows. For sure something I can live with out
The girl was alone and I asked why there wasn't any “ass kickers” at the Bangkok Wing Chun. Turned out that they had only been open for 2 or 3 days. Well, it was the nicest boxing gym I had been to in Bangkok.
Imagine this place on lower Sukhumvit!
It was fresh and clean and there was a very nice ring. Plenty space so this was a place I would not mind coming to. But in Bang Na! I don't thinks so.

Yes, it was a very nice gym and I would not hesitate to make this my place to kick ass at. But in Bang Na! I just don't have the time to get back and forth to Bang Na. The girl’s mother wanted me to come. And she went on and on. Her daughter didn't have any friends and she felt alone at Bangkok Wing Chun. What's next? I will have to fly to Singapore on a daily basis to keep someone company at a boxing club.
The Teacher's girlfriend wanted to take me for dinner, but I had to cancel as I have a terrible pain in my stomach. Feels like I'm about to puke all the time. And this started when I came back from Manila and I continued with my “at least 300 gram salmon per day” diet with the Salmon Sashimi in Bangkok.
But otherwise I feel much better after starting my new OMEGA-3 diet. But I have bought a few kilos of smoked salmon and I hope this will make me feel better.
Heavy traffic going back home, but it was much quicker than to go to Bang Na and I was soon back home. I asked the taxi to stop at my local 7 Eleven and I bought a bottle of Diet MAX for school tomorrow. Of course, the bottle was empty not long after stepping inside my apartment. I have to buy a new bottle tomorrow.
Sukhumvit Soi 23
Well, end of the week and I will try to make Pasta with Smoked Salmon in vodka sauce - Pasta al Salmone Affumicato. Pasta with smoked salmon is one of the standard Italian Valentine’s Day recipes.
I had missed calls from my friend and I called him. It was not him that had called, it was a girl! For sure nothing I'm used to.
- It was not me, it was Miss Most Beautiful in the world
He was going to call her and later on he called me again. He talked the girl in to talk to me but she was obviously to shy (scared) Maybe because she don't speak English, well, she is too shy to speak English. My friend pushed her.
- Speak Thai!
Well, we spoke and I will make Pasta al Salmone Affumicato for her. So I'm off to buy groceries. No need to buy vodka, I must have 200 bottles of ABSOLUT in by cupboard. And I will not buy any chilli, this time NO courtesy chilli.
Pasta with Smoked Salmon in vodka sauce - Pasta al Salmone Affumicato
Can I get the Pasta with Smoked Salmon in vodka sauce - Pasta al Salmone Affumicato to look like the above? I doubt it, but I will give it my best try. But I knew already before trying to do the Pasta al Salmone that I would swap the green stuff for dill. And as it is Friday there is the market outside my condo and I have bought dill there several times before.
It was 8 o'clock in the evening and they had sold out at the market. So I had to take a walk to Tops Market to see if they had any dill. Pasta al Salmone Affumicato without dill would be as, well, then I can as well do something else. So I took off and I had to pass through the protest site at Asoke/ Sukhumvit Intersection. All the guards know me by now and they are screaming when I'm coming. I usually have my school bag in my right hand and a hanky in the left hand when passing. They all want to shake my hand when I pass the gate. But I know that the rest room situation on the protest site leave a lot to wish for. So I'm better off with my hands full.
People's Democratic Reform Committee, PDRC protest site at Asoke/ Sukhumvit Intersection
The protest sites are almost empty, at least those days I have been there and it was no problem to get to Tops Market on Sukhumvit Soi 19. I was lucky and they had dill at Tops Market.
The Pasta al Salmone was saved and I was in a good mood walking back home.
And no, the Pasta al Salmone didn't look like the pictures on internet. But it was a great success and there were no leftovers, and that's even though I used 1 kilo of smoked salmon for the spaghetti salmon in vodka sauce. Well, I had good help with the cooking.
Waiting for us to start cooking
At a Japanese Restaurant in Thonburi
Facebook, didn't take long for her to upload the picture from my kitchen. Same when we were at the Japanese restaurant the day after, the pictures was on Facebook before I was back home. I ended up on Facebook as well. And I was sad to see that they had not used the Thai “filter” on me. For sure, I need to go through that filter several times.
They have a filter on their phone and when they apply the filter they look like Japanese comic characters. All of them look the same, beyond recognition.
The Review Man have also uploaded pictures of his ecco shoes and the story about his purchase of the Toshiba Qosmio X70-A. Instant reactions. One girl from Singapore posted that she liked my post about the Toshiba Qosmio X70-A not long after. At least 2 people not buying the Toshiba Qosmio X70-A. Yes, it is not a computer that impresses me. And they call it a “monster”
The pictures of the ecco shoes have been seen by I don't know how many people. And there are several reviews/ report of problem with the soles. There was a message from a girl and she gave me a tip on a page on Facebook, Ecco Shoes Sucks.
Yes, I thought I had bought ecco sandals to last me for the rest of my life. But vodka and booze, will never get enough. Yes, it is like going to a restaurant when you're hungry. Ordering a lot of food and half way through the food you have to stop because you're full.
30 years old and I was thinking that I would drink and party until my last day. So I bought plenty booze, could never get enough and my cupboard was always full.
No risk of running dry.
30 years old and I thought it was impossible to get TOO MUCH booze. I carried 23 bottles as most. Remember coming to the custom at Suvarnabhumi, the Custom Officer hold my tax-free bags while sending my luggage through the x-ray machine.
Amazing how much energy I have wasted carrying around tax-free booze. But I like the 1 litre bottles, the 75cl bottles at Tops Market is too small. And it is not much more money to buy the vodka at the supermarket. And there is no need to carry the bottles if you buy them on internet and most supermarkets have this option today.
No more drinking for me and I can as well get rid of my booze
Well, that was back when I was 30 years old, now 2 or 3 years have passed and I have realised that the drinking and partying is a waste of time and money. I was in Hawaii and I was supposed to take a tour to Las Vegas, but I found out that it was only 7°C and I postponed the trip. I will go to Las Vegas in June and I will have a few beers then. But until then, nothing, and after Las Vegas, no more drinking and holidays.
What to do if not partying? I wanted to go to Chiang Mai 2 weeks ago, but I realised that it would be boring without the party. What to do in Chiang Mai if not going to the pubs?
So Las Vegas, last holiday, I have seen what I want to see and I have no more wishes to fly around the world. And Las Vegas will be the last time drinking beer.
I have realised that there won't be much money spent when I give up partying And if my diet kicks in there won't be any money at all spent. Would be enough to work 2 to 3 months per year. An idea I'm currently pondering on. But what to do instead?
I also realised that the bottles I have will ever been used. So when they find me dead the bottles will go lost and I decided to get rid of them. And maybe I can get rid of the cupboard as well. More space for nothing!
Now the only problem I have is to find something to do with the money and time I have when I have given up partying. But it feels good, not a beer for a very long time now.

The Hangover
Sorry to say: If you don't understand Skånska, don't bother with the video
And the hangovers are for sure nothing I'm going to miss. But it could have been worse, much worse. As for the poor guy in the video above.
Charisma Man is dead! Long lives the Review Man!
No more alcohol and party so the chances to ever meet Charisma Man again are less than slim. And our hero is blocked from Ecco shoe's Facebook. Yeah, way to go! Instead of doing something about the quality we block dissatisfied customers. Charisma Man is gone, never to be seen again.
But Review Man is rising and we can find him on Facebook. And don't be surprised to find him reviewing crappy things in the future. There is nothing stopping him from exposing crappy things and scams. And you can rest assure that Review Man 2 is ready to take over when they block The Review Man. Try to stop the Review Man.
It has been a busy week, boxing and Thai studies every day. Well, I missed the boxing one day because I didn't wake up until 12 o'clock. I heard my phone ring when I was on the way to the kitchen. It was my friend and he was waiting downstairs.
I thought he was back home, for sure, I had not expected him to wait for 90 minutes. But now it was too late as I had to go to the Thai language school. But otherwise the diet is on the right track.
I have given up the buffet at Tohkai Japanese Restaurant. I had some stomach pain last week and I decided to try smoked salmon. I bought a few 200 gr pack with smoked salmon.
200 gr!!! That means that I must have been eating almost a kilo of salmon at Tohkai every day, not strange that I'm growing out of my trousers. So I was quick to change my diet. Well, they have a fridge full of Diet MAX at Tohkai so I might have to go there during the weekends now when they have arranged the Diet MAX for me.
But my V-shaped torso is more important than the fridge at Tohkai and I only eat at home now a
Before
After
day. It is boring, but I must avoid restaurant at all cost. The “Best looking guy in town 2014” diet cannot endure any visits to any restaurant and I have not been to any restaurant since a very long time. I stay home:
• “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ® + 2 slices of pumpernickel with a pot of tea
• 2 apples and a carrot after the boxing
• 200 gr smoked salmon and fresh fruit when I'm back home from the Thai language school
Fresh, fruit, I buy fruit for 2 days and I'm buying groceries at Tops Market almost every day. But there are pitfalls at Tops Market. I manage to dodge them most of the time, only to fail when passing my local 7 Eleven on my way back home. So it is known to have happened that I have returned home with not only fruit, but also some chocolate brownies. And I always feel bad, but I can't stop.
It has been a week full of shooting and bombing here in Bangkok, new grenade attacks and shootings almost every day. And below we have some of the Bangkok Post's headlines from the last week.

Well, time to leave Bangkok, I will join Roy Maersk again. Indonesia or Singapore next week and it will be nice to leave. And no more Pumpernickel in Bangkok. I bought the last 4 packs at Tops Market at MBK yesterday. I asked if they had more and they suggested Tops Market at World Trade Center. I walked from MBK to World Trace Center, a walk through the Payathai Road, Rama 1 and Ratchaprasong protest site.
The protest site was almost empty, not even people to eat the free food. But the People's Democratic Reform Committee, PDRC refuse to give up. Even though Suthep Thaugsuban himself were talking from the stage outside MBK there wasn't much people.
Maybe because of the attacks during the week. But there haven’t been many people around for the last few weeks.
And yet again, I wonder who is behind all this. Who is running the show? Must be someone power full when the Government don't dare to remove the stages. This will most likely not have a good ending. Maybe the SHUT DOWN BANGKOK and this Whistle Revolution in a week, or a year, maybe even 2 years.
But the problem will still be there and there is no easy solution. Maybe civil war or a divided Thailand. Let's hope for the best and that they can agree on something.
Split all the money they can steal between all the corrupt politicians so no one need to feel left out. A easy solution. But there is no easy solution to this because there is a huge gap between the two sides.
I read in Bangkok Post that the red shirts are seeking people. 600,000 young men to join the new pro-government Democracy Protection Volunteers Group this year, a move that raises concerns about the possibility of the country descending into civil war.
Last day in Thai school for this week and I stopped at my local 7 Eleven to buy a bottle of Diet MAX for school. I also bought something else and this was not such a good thing.
I went outside to open the pack. The garbage bin was surrounded by students from the Srinakarinwirot University. Girls in school uniforms and I had to excuse myself to make my way to the garbage bin.
There was a plastic strip around my pack and it was like a plaster. Could not get it of my fingers. One of the girls asked if I wanted help.
- OH! YES!
She took the stripe and now it was stuck on her fingers. She could not remove the strip. She took it with the other hand and now it was stuck to her other hand. Suddenly all 12 girls were involved in the plastic strip and it went from hand to hand. And as I'm old enough to have read Tintin I remember Captain Haddock and the band aid, I think it was on a flight to Nepal. It didn't end well so I told them that I was in a hurry and I said good buy.
- Thank you for the help with the strip!
I walk through the People's Democratic Reform Committee's protest site at the Asoke/ Sukhumvit Intersection everyday when going to school. And today there were an ambulance crew showing first aid at the protest site. A sign of times to come?

Chuvit Garden has its own history. I came walking by early morning and the whole market was gone
From Wikipedia: Chuvit Garden (also known as Chuwit Park) is a private park in Bangkok, at Sukhumvit Soi 10. It was created in 2006 by Chuwit Kamolvisit who owns the area. The block was formerly known as Sukhumvit Square. The park is open to the public daily from 08:00 to 10:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00.
In the early morning hours of 26 January 2003 about 120 bars and other businesses on this plot of land were destroyed. Chuwit was accused of having masterminded this action to get rid of unwanted tenants. In an interview in 2004, he admitted to having paid police to carry out the raid, but when they later demanded more money he refused. He was acquitted of all charges related to the raid in July 2006.

I walked through the People's Democratic Reform Committee's protest site at the Asoke/ Sukhumvit Intersection and I crossed Sukhumvit Road via the sky train station and Time Square. I walked up Sukhumvit passing Chuvit Gardena and Bangkok Bank. I crossed Sukhumvit at NANA Sky Train Station and I descended down to Sukhumvit Soi 11 and the Refugee Camp Sukhumvit market. And eye sore, but I was going to Tops Market to buy carrots and onion and I had to pass through the shit.
Yes, the road side knick-knacks market looks like a refugee camp. And I can't understand why anyone wants to buy anything at the Refugee Camp market.

I was not allowed to take pictures. And yes, she had a boyfriend coming from Australia next month
Känner du igen henne Masken? Hon måste ju vara ett par hundra år gammal
I passed Miami Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 13 on my way to Tops Market. Sofitel and a building with 7 Eleven, smack over the old and I must say classic Thermae. The only place in the world I know of where you entered through the toilet. Well, this place was closed down at the end of the 90's. The opened a new Thermae on Sukhumvit Soi 15.
I took a few pictures when I passed Thermae and there was soon a 100 years old or so lady coming rushing at me.
- You cannot take pictures!
- Says who?
- You cannot take pictures here! I say so
- I don't give a flying f*** what you say.
Same on Jamaica, I was taking pictures and suddenly 2 guys showed up telling me that I could not take pictures.
- Have you smoked yourself retarded? I asked.
Well, anyway, she changed her mind and she offered me massage.
- PLEASE!! I said
Then she told me that she had a boy friend, he was from Australia and he was coming next month.
- Interesting, but I'm sorry, I don't have the time and I must dash off!
But it is 15 years ago since I was at Thermae. But the old Thermae was OK. Do I miss it? NO WAY! But I have some memories from that place. The Police Waiter, I woke up in the sofa and I thought I was at my hotel. So of course, I wondered if he was working at my hotel as well. One morning, 7 or 8 o'clock he burst in to my hotel in full Police uniform.
- Where is Aladdin?
- He lives in room...
- He is wanted for heroine trafficking!
- He has not paid his bill...
- Maybe you see him again in 25 years
Of course, I had to get out of bed to go drink more beers. But I don't miss it.

Latest news in Bangkok Post when I'm back home from Tops Market is that People's Democratic Reform Committee, PDRC will close down their protest sites and move everything to Lumpini Park. Well, I guess there have not been any people at the sites the last few weeks and the drivers in Bangkok have been at least to say annoyed with the blocking of the roads.
“We will raise the level of our rallies after we return the roads to Bangkok people,” Mr Suthep said. “I personally hope the game will be over by March.
“I hope that after we return the roads to you, Bangkok people will rethink how important what we are doing is for the country and join us”
Responding to the government's plan to invite United Nations Secretary-general Ban Ki-moon to Thailand to help solve the political crisis, Mr Suthep said he believed the UN did not understand Thailand's situation the way Thai people do.
In any case, he said, Ms Yingluck could not communicate well in English and that could pose a problem during negotiations.
Open roads, but the problem is not coming to an end. They are still trying to get rid of the government via the juridical system. The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) is investigating Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. And as no surprise Red Shirts is blocking the NACC's office and thus preventing people from entering the building. No end in sight to this.

2 March 2014 around 18:00 - Military Post outside World Trade Center
The traffic was running normally at Sukhumvit just after 3 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. I arrived to World Trade Center at Ratchaprasong just after 6 o'clock and they were removing the last stuff. Traffic running normally when I come out from World Trade Center just after 7 o'clock.
But it will be boring to walk around Bangkok now. Walking home from MBK have been quite interesting since they started the SHUTDOWN BANGKOK. Normally it is boring to walk down the stretch between Siam Square and Sukhumvit Road. As soon as I have Siam Square behind there isn't much interesting.
And this is the stretch they want to compare with Orchard Road in Singapore. I have been many times in Singapore but I have not been on Orchard Road for many many years. But I remember walking down Orchard Road as a little bit more exciting than Rama 1. Since the built the skywalk under the sky train it is easier to walk. The sidewalk used to be like a steeplechase course and there was never any people. So walking all by lonesome, nothing to see and no girls to look at.
Coming to Ratchaprasong and we have the World Trade Center, Gaysorn, Erawan and Amarin and there are some people to watch. Takes about 2 minutes to pass Ratchaprasong and I'm on Ploenchit heading towards Sukhumvit. Passing Central Chidlom, nothing going on, there is a new shopping complex opposite of Central Chidlom. They are building new shopping malls along Ploenchit but I doubt that it will ever be like Orchard Road. I don't like Orchard, but there is always something to look at and plenty people on and about. But between Sukhumvit Soi 3 and Sian Square, exactly nothing. And it won't help to build more shopping malls.
Red shirts launch mass counter-rally
UDD aims to mobilise 50,000 to oppose pdrc
Mr Suporn is the president of the DPVG. He said the movement expected to draw at least 600,000 volunteers from across the country, with 200,000 coming from the north-eastern region.
The aim of the movement was to defend the democratic system and protect the constitutional monarchy, he said. Mr Suporn said the volunteer recruitment in other north-eastern provinces would start next Saturday. He will preside over the application process in Nakhon Ratchasima, where he expects 20,000 people to join.
Those eligible to apply must be at least 18 years old and the recruits will receive training from retired army personnel, he said.
Anuwat Tinnarat, a core red-shirt member, said that the movement was aimed at countering a potential military coup and to protect government agencies and the public against any form of dictatorship.
The last few days in Bangkok was spent with Thai language studies and boxing in the squash room at my condo. 5th of March in Singapore or in Indonesia, whenever they arrive to Indonesia
So there isn't really much to do, I don't know from day to day and it is easy to understand that it is impossible to make any plans. But I received an e-mail late afternoon on the 4th of March. I will fly to Singapore on the 6th of March.
And the Cathay Pacific flight departure from Suvarnabhumi at 12:45.
That is way better than to have to leave at 10 o'clock with Singapore Airline. I have been on the Singapore Airline flight leaving Suvarnabhumi at 10 o'clock in the morning the last few times I have flying to Singapore.
Now I can get out of bed in a “normal” time, well, at 8 o'clock instead of having to go up at 5 o'clock in the morning.
So be able to stay in bed until 8 will be like winning the lottery. I was at the Train Market - ตลาดรถไฟ last weekend and I found a beautiful living room cabinet. And next door they sold a hat stand made of an old tree.
I was back with my friend last Monday and the shop was closed. So I decided to get back on Tuesday, and as I don't start Thai school until 3 on Tuesdays my friend drove me there on Tuesday afternoon. They would deliver the cabinet in the evening.
I went next door to buy the hat stand and I gave the hat stand to the girl in the cabinet shop and they will deliver the hat stand with the cabinet. I took a taxi back to the Thai school.
A new living room cabinet for the stereo
And yes, all my potted plants are dead
I bought an old tree for my caps
Caps, still better than the hair spray
“The BABES are back!”
I walked back home from school and I saw the top of the hat stand passing on the road behind the parking cars. I didn't see the pick-up car but I knew it was my hat stand coming down Sukhumvit Soi 23. 1 hour later my friend came with a borrowed pick up car and we removed my old China styled cabinet. And I'm pretty satisfied with the new cabinet.
Well, time to leave for the ship, but first I'm off to eat dinner with my friend, last night in Bangkok and then I'm off for 2 months.
OK, it has come to my knowledge that we have senior citizens visiting my web page. How hard can it be? So it's not very easy for them to see the blue coloured links to the next page.
