No longer any need to use the Internet Explorer or run the Internet Explorer rendering engine. I gave up IE after the introduction of Internet Explorer 11
  Page is tested in Fire Fox, Chrome and Safari. Looks like it works OK in all browsers, except the sounds in Safari. Of course, browsing www.aladdin.st in Safari on an iPad is a different story, nothing looks as it should   Monday 8th of April 2013 and I was not happy to discover that we were going by bus to  Suvarnabhumi terminal. Thai Airways flight TG 414 didn't make it all the way to the terminal and we had to get on a foocking bus. Well, there is one advantages with the bus, it takes us to the immigration and no need to trot around like a horse.
A few years ago they handed out FAST TRACK vouchers on the Thai Airways flights. Then they changed it to show the boarding pass at immigration and since then I have only found the FAST TRACK one time. There used to be a map on the back of the FAST TRACK voucher. Well, there was only 2 guys in front of me at the immigration so never mind. I was in a taxi 10  minutes after arrival and as it is holiday and no traffic it didn't take me long to get home. I don't know why, but it seems like the 7 Eleven in Bangkok is out of cigarettes, never mind, I had a few drags from my e-cigarette first thing and from now on it will not be any more cigarettes.
HEY! Maybe this weekend in Singapore will turn out to be the thing that turns my life around completely. I for sure hope so and then it have turned out to be a very good thing. From now on it will be a healthy lifestyle. +++++++++++++++
Tuesday 9th of April 2013 and I didn't got to school until just before 4 o'clock. I was out of bed at 9 o'clock but I went back to bed at 10 thirty and I didn't woke up until 13 thirty when I was  supposed to be in class. Well, I can come at the brake 14 thirty but as I watched a episode of Shameless I missed that opportunity and I didn't left home until a wee bit after 3 o'clock.
And as usually, I learned a few new words in Thai and I was happy that I had been to school instead of staying home in bed. I was back home in time for Bangkok Fight Club, but I decided to rest my toe for one more day before getting back to kicking bags. And my friend called and we will meet at The Stable Lodge at 9 o'clock. I walked to Sukuhmvit via Soi 19 and as usually, the guy at the Beer garden was celebrating  Songkran with a bucket of water. It is the same every year, he is on the sidewalk with a bucket of water.
I guess it is the son of the owners. And I suspect that he is a wee bit mental challenged. Never mind, he don't throw water, he just sprinkle a wee bit of water. And most important, he looks like he is enjoying himself. So I can take a few drops of water even though I try to avoid Beer garden by walking on the opposite side of Soi 19. But it is fun  to see him laughing enjoying himself. Today one of the staff tried  to prevent him from sprinkle a family having dinner at one of the tables.
I was at the Stable Lodge a few minutes before 9 o'clock and I had a pot of tea while waiting  for my friend. He arrived a few minutes after 9 and time really turned quick and it was soon 10 thirty.
We walked to a bar down Sukhumvit and I had 2 soda waters before we left. He is flying to Vietnam at 07:45 tomorrow morning. It was midnight before I was back home and I went to bed pretty much immediately. I have planned to go have a look on the work with my sofa tomorrow so I need to get up early in the morning. +++++++++++++++
Wednesday 10th of April 2013 and as we have Songkran, the Thai New Year upcoming next weekend  I went to buy a hangover kit at Tops Market. Yes, I know that I had decided giving up the beers after my adventure  in Singapore. But Songkran is for 4 days and I cannot sit home for 4 days.
And to go out in the water war sober is not an option. And I'm better off having everything I need at home and I will stay home Monday and Tuesday. I stopped at Almenta on my way to Tops Market and it didn't take long before I was upset. I had asked for red silk and they made the cushion covers in pink and  purple. I told them that I had asked for red silk and they checked their papers. No, it was going to be pink and purple. The back of the sofa and armchairs were going to be red.
They told me that I had asked for pink and purple. - Yes, the first time I had changed my mind when we had decided on the red, yellow and orange silk. I was not in a very good mood when I left for Tops Market. I would check the quotation when I was back home. But it would not surprise me if it said pink & purple. I never read the quotation, I expected them to make red when I had said red. I NEVER LEARN!! Well, it might look OK when it is ready or I will have to change the  fabric on the cushions again, when I have the time. By now I have spent enough time on this sofa and I had expected it to be ready a long time ago.
I had my “daily” 200gr pack of smoked salmon and “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ® with a pot of tea when I was back home and I still had an hour before it was time to leave for Bangkok Fight Club so I study  my Thai books. And honestly, I was almost falling asleep on my bed. Well, I will have to read the last of my books before going to sleep tonight.  Hopefully
My toe is better, not good, but I had decided to go try out Bangkok Fight Club. I really can't sit home hand grow bigger and balder by the day. My friend called me just as I was about to leave, but I didn't answer the phone. I knew that it wouldn't take much to talk me in to skip tonight's  session at Bangkok Fight Club with my toe. And I really can live without any more  restaurant meals by now. There is enough calories in the hangover kit I bought today to give me agony even though I have not yet touched the hangover kit.
And as it turned out (I called him when I was back home) I had dodged a visit to a restaurant because he wanted to go for dinner. And in a weak moment I agreed to go have lunch tomorrow. A tossed salad only?
I was alone with my Teacher at Bangkok Fight Club and we did some bench-press and weight lifting before we started with the mitts. And as we were alone I turned on Ted Nugent and his legendary tune Stranglehold, full blast. And even though I wasn't borne back in 1975 when Ted made the tune I understand to appreciate the tune, on FULL BLAST! My Teacher thought it was bullshit. Ted Nugent - Stranglehold

So as you understand I was very exciting when they started off with Stranglehold in Manila a few years back.
I was drinking San Miguel Light and they had an excellent band on the huge stage. And as Filipinos  are excellent musicians I decided to give it a go and I gave the Waiter a note with Ted Nugent- Stranglehold and I stood up when they started. But they gave up after a few seconds and I  was very disappointed.
Stranglehold is from Ted's LP Ted Nugent and if you run in to the record it could be worth while checking out the song Snakeskin Cowboy. First time I heard Stranglehold was when I listened on the album Double Live Gonzo from 1978. Of course, many years after 1978. Well, anyway, we finished the session 20 minutes past 8 o'clock and I walked back home to a shower and my Thai books. And while I study my Thai books you can enjoy the above videos of Ted Nugent performing Stranglehold, the first one from 1976 and the second video is from 2008. Thursday 11th of April 2013 and I was going to meet my friend at Kobune at Fortune Town. I  walked by Almeta on my way to the subway station and I decided to go to check out my sofa. But I changed my mind and I went straight to Fortune Town with the subway. My friend was waiting for me when I arrived and we got straight on  with the menu. We already knew what we were going to eat, the Grilled Maguro Steak.
Maguro (鮪): Thunnus (a genus of Tuna) and it is excellent, almost like pepper steak and the sauce coming with it is very nice. So I asked for a pot with extra sauce and 2 bowls of rice. The tuna is very tender and it is like it is melting in the mouth. I had 2 bottles of water with my tuna and when we were ready we went to  fix my friends SIM card.
When we were eating our Maguro Steak at Kobune it started to rain, and it was not a  light rain. It was like the sky opened up and the streets were full of water. So we went for a cup of coffe, well, I had a shake, at the top floor while waiting for the rain to stop.
The rain had stopped when we came down to the ground floor and we walked to the subway station. My friend wanted to have a beer at Black Swan. - Are you boxing today? I told him that I was off to Bangkok Fight Club tonight and he changed his mind about the beer. I got off the train a Sukhumvit and I walked back home and now I stopped at Almeta. They have made 7 meters of pink silk for my sofa. And they have made 3 meters of purple silk for the  cushion sides. I had told them that I wanted red silk.
OK, first time I was there I wanted pink and purple, but when I ordered the red, yellow and orange silk I changed the other colours to red with yellow tubing. Well, mistakes was made and of course, I should have checked the quotation. OK, we managed to arranged 7 meters of red silk after several calls to the factory and I  found myself with 7 meters of pink silk that I had no use for. I told the girls that they could use the pink silk to make shirts for their boyfriends. Well, never mind they can do whatever they want with the pink silk.
I wanted red for the cushion sides as well, but I discovered that the purple would look very nice with the red and yellow so I kept the purple silk. I was in an excellent mood when I left Almenta  Due tothe storm? I don't know, but a tree had felt over a house outside my local 7 Eleven
I had time for a “TUNA & ONION SURPRISE” ® and a pot of tea before it was time to leave for Bangkok Fight Club. And I was still in a good mood because of the 7 meters extra of red silk we have managed to get. Imagine if I hadn't stopped there yesterday discovering the pink silk, I would  not have been happy when it would have been time to deliver the sofa.
Plenty people at Bangkok Fight Club and I was almost turning around to go back home. They have a boxing class and there were almost 10 people and in the Muay Thai it was me and 2 other guys. Luckily enough I stayed and I had a good session even though it was hard to  walk with my toe. And of course, we started with the Thai Navy exercise. Jumping up and down on my toe. And we did a lot of kicking and punching and I was dead tired when it was time to go home. And it was really nice when we finished. I will hopefully soon be in a better shape since I gave up smoking.
I bought a WIFI extender when we were at Fortune Town earlier in the afternoon and it took me 3 minutes to set up the WIFI extender and now I have WIFI covering my condo. +++++++++++++++
Friday 12th of April 2013 and I left to buy more liquid for my e-cigarettes. My plan was to go to  MBK Center and the place we had been at last time. But as I was going to  meet my friend at Terminal 21 at 13 thirty for lunch I decided to go to the guy selling e-cigarettes on Sukhumvit.
It was 1 o'clock before I got out of my apartment and I would never had made it in time to MBK Center. I wanted to have 2 back up e-cigarettes but I can buy them after Songkran. I don't want to buy anything along Sukhumvit but my friend had bought the liquid there and he told me it was good. I stopped at Robinson to see if they had any liquid, no. I stopped at some drug store, but they didn't sell any liquid for e-cigarettes. But they are selling water guns all over town and I saw the guy  from beer garden on Sukhumvit Soi 19. He had a gun and he was standing outside  Robinson. Otherwise no sign of anyone throwing water or celebrating Songkran.
I continued to the stall at Sukhumvit Soi  11 and I bought 4 bottles of e-cigarette liquid and I spotted 2 e-cigarettes that looked sturdy.
The ones I bought at MBK Center are a wee bit flimsy and it is OK as long as you are sober. But I need a few “PARTY” e-cigarettes and these looked like a steel pen and I can have them in my pocket without breaking them. Well, sounds good in theory, but real life usually proves theory to be nothing but crap. And at a good night out I need at least 2 of the e-cigarettes, the battery usually runs flat after a few hours. And as there is a cap over the mouth piece on the new e-cigarettes I recon them to be Songkran  safe. I was satisfied with my purchase and I walked back to Terminal 21 where I would meet my friend on the 5th floor.
I came up on the 5th floor and I was soon discovering my friend.  - What the 
It was a food court and this was like an all time low. A food court and I told my friend that I could keep him company with a soda water. - Are you sure you don't want any food? - Yes - It is a very good soup! - HEY! I have not been eating at a school dining hall running around with trays for a very long time - It is very good food! - What month is it - April - What year? - 2013  - Hmm, April 2013, so it is almost exactly 30 years since I had my last school dining hall meal.
- But..... - And I will not have one today! He bought 2 fruit smoothies and I kept him company  Like a school dining hall

And yes, it was back then I had Ted Nugent's Stranglehold on full blast and the neighbours from several houses up the street came to complain about the music. And no, it was not during the night, in the middle of the day
When he had finished his soup and the smoothies were empty he asked if we should have coffe  - COFFEE!!?? No, but tea. Where?
- They have coffee here - I'm sure, but let's swing over to Landmark hotel instead! We walked to Landmark and we were soon having some of Landmark's excelent pastries in front of us. And a pot of tea, it was very very nice, not for my diet though. And we didn't had to carry any tray. Hell, I didn't not even see any trays until the Waitress brought our stuff. Tea and a mango surprise + 2 pistachio cakes. Very good and the coffee shop at Landmark Hotel is recommended by Aladdin. I can't remember any better coffee shop in Bangkok, well, if you're looking for almond croissants Millennium on Asoke is the place to be. Must be the best in the world. Well, anyway, Landmark  Hotel or Millennium is the place to be for tea and pastries.
We walked back to Black Swan, my friend wanted to have a beer and I had a soda water. He asked when my boxing started and as it don't start until 7 he asked if I wanted to join him for a beer at Robin Hood.  - Hmm, a beer at a place with 1000 TV sets showing sport or a session at Bangkok  Fight Club? Easy choice, I left and I went home to change for my session at Bangkok Fight Club.
I crossed Sukhumvit Road via the sky train station and I crossed Asoke via the subway station and when I came up on Soi Cowboy I discovered that the water fight was in full swing and I had to turn around and walk Asoke road back home.  16:51 at Soi Cowboy, the water fight have started

When I was back home I asked the Security Guard to come with me and I handed him a bottle of  Johnny Walker Black Label.
- Happy New Year! - Thank you very much This guy is always very helpful and happy. Always helping me with the luggage and when he see me coming through the gate he open the door so I don't have to use  the stupid finger print reader they have installed at the door. So I wanted to give him a bottle of Whiskey and he was very happy.
I had an apple and 200 gr of smoked salmon before I took off to Bangkok Fight Club. It was only my Teacher and a guy from UK when I arrived and we started to warm up  by running around 2 chairs and elbowing a punch bag. After about 20 minutes we had one Thai guy arriving and he joined us when we started with the mitts.
Well, running, I was more or less limping around due to my toe. But it was a very good session and  now I can feel the difference since I gave up  smoking. When we did the same exercises a few days ago I was half dead, literally.
But today it was much better and we can just imagine how it will feel next week. The e-cigarette is the best thing that happened to me in a long time. We finished our session and we talked about Songkran and we were all going to Silom tomorrow for the water war and we will see if we can meet up. Of course, no one will bring a phone, but as the guy from UK said: - It won't be hard to see you and me sticking up over the rest of the crowd I will call our Thai friend tomorrow and he really want to go, but he might have to bring his cousin and she is 13 years old and he wasn't so interested in this idea. He was more in to party. So he would try to leave her at home and to come party with us at Silom Road. But never mind how many people you're going, you have lost everyone after 5 minutes in the crowd. And as I use to say, to go for a beer or 20, you're better off alone. If you make a tit out of yourself there is no one you know around to see you and to keep on reminding you about the faux pas for the rest of your life. Something I can live without.  Well, I guess we will have to make a new page for the Songkran adventure so just click the link and we will be there in a jiff. This might be fun.
