  Monday 18th of September 2017 and they knocked on my door 10 minutes past 1 o'clock. They car was here and I started to pack my last things and I got out in the van. I might have mutter to myself about 1 thirty is 1 thirty and not 10 past one. Anyway, we will be earlier in Lahad Datu. I said good bye to my Guide and I took my seat in the van and we took off. It was 90 minutes on the bumpy dirt road. I spotted 2 Blue-throated Bee-eaters on the way. We saw a few monkeys on the road. So not much excitements and time turned very slow in my uncomfortable seat. And it was very nice when we finally approached the small airport in Lahad Datu. Get me out of the van! I checked in and I was alone in the business class. Good, there will be plenty room for me. But they didn't had any business lounge and the coffee shop didn't had anything that I wanted to have. So I crossed the street and I bought a bottle of choco milk and a bottle of water. I still had more than an hour to kill so I went to look for birds. I spotted a Munia flying with a long straw of grass in the bill. I went to check it out and there were many Scaly-breasted Munia busy building nests outside the Lahad Datu Airport administration building. One of the Officers was coming out to see what I was doing. We had a chat about bird photography and he left for the airport. He was going to work in the security when we are boarding MASwings flight MH 3019 to Kota Kinabalu. I looked around for more birds before I returned to the departure hall. Waiting for 10 minutes or so before they opened the security so we could go to the gate. The flight from Kota Kinabalu was delayed so we will arrive late to Kota Kinabalu. After 30 minutes or so and I could see MASwings flight MH 3018 from Kota Kinabalu approaching Lahad Datu. Finally, I was bored senseless sitting at the gate looking out on the runway. And I really fancy some real food for dinner so I'm in a hurry to get to Imagio in Kota Kinabalu tonight. We could see the passengers getting off on the tarmac and the staff handing out umbrellas to each one of the passengers. So we will not be able to board until they have collected all the umbrellas so they can give them to us for the walk over the tarmac.  Safety information
I took my seat and I was quite comfy in my seat. Would have been a living hell if someone would have been in the seat next to me. Anyway, we had the safety information and the taxi out to the runway and we were soon airborne. Original arrival time 17:25 and now it was 17:45 due to the delays. The taxi driver that took me to the airport asked if he could come to pick me up when I came back to Kota Kinabalu. So we will see if he is there to pick me up. Anyway, we were airborne and I got my food, same as last time, but they had changed the chicken skewer for mushroom puffs. So I went them back to the galley. Water to drink and the time passes very quickly and we were soon descending to Kota Kinabalu International. I was the first passenger off the flight walking over the tarmac. The taxi driver was there to pick me up and we were soon at my hotel. The Driver was waiting while I was checking in and we were off to Imagio shopping mall. I had Japanese food for dinner. I bought milk and oatmeal at the supermarket before I returned to my hotel. Wake up call tomorrow at 5 o'clock and I'm off for a snorkelling day tour to practice with my underwater camera.
